Dr. Dawn Allison Sparks

Dr. Sparks was amazing to talk to about my pain. She really is interested in what you have to say in reference to your pain. She really cares. I have never felt more listened to by another doctor before. Highly recommend her and her services.

I didn’t want narcotics, just options. She basically quit my visit right there.

I had a traumatic brain injury from a car accident for the past 15 years when I moved to Kauai to find clean air to provide relief from constant sinus problems. At that time I hade been treated with narcotics for a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) for 15 years on the mainland by various Drs. I found Dr. Sparks and had a consult with her to see what her approach might be in solving for the significant pain I endured 24 hours per day 7 days a week. I wanted to get off of the narcotics as they dulled my ability to write, my profession after retiring from the international company I was the main partner in. She told me she could help me and I stopped the narcotic medicines to prepare for the injection procedure she planned to use. Dr. Sparks listened to me intently and questioned when needed and created a phased plan we were to follow. Within the first two procedures I was able to stop sleeping most of the day, the only way I seemed to be able to control the significant pain in… my neck and side of the head. The accident had direct contact to my left side of my head and torso (6 broken ribs) as the car drove directly into my driver's side - I was crushed into the center of the car, knocked unconscious, and pinned into the wreckage, it took 2 hours to cut me out. It was a preside airbag rental car - I was on a business trip - and unconscious I continued to crash into a wall. Within the next two procedures, she was able to significantly control the massive head pain without any medication, certainly without any narcotics! At that point, I was able to begin a social life that I hade not been able to have until then. Dr. Sparks has continued to fine-tune any issues with the pain. It was due to her listening and questioning that we arrived at a patient and Dr. relationship that gave me back my life. Dr. Sparks gave me options that were spot on in solving for the condition that no mainland Dr. of any capability had been able to accomplish. The effort of her Lighthouse Healing operation is a flawless experience -- Kim her lead assistant is able to make my visits pleasant and removes any issues with insurance and paperwork, as well as setting up appointments and then checking me in with a pleasant attitude

Went to Dr. Sparks doe pain in my lower back. She went through my options and we decided that just getting opioids was not in my best interests. Love it when a Dr. takes the time to listen, not just the usual 3 minutes here's a prescription, and we're done.

I chose to go to Dr. Sparks out of my own free will due to pain that I could not get rid of, she treated me like an addict (@ the moment I was somewhat addicted but also had real pain), ruined my reputation w/ my long time doctor & now even my own dentist won’t prescribe me pain medicine after getting a Surgical implant. It’s probably because I am young & not old that I am treated that way, but I have to deal w/ pinched nerve(s) that come & go (multiple spots proven in MRI by my Doctor) & no one takes me seriously anymore, like I’m just faking it for meds. Other than that, I’d say maybe she helped me w/ my pain @ the moment, but it’s so hard to tell because spinal disc’s will align themselves back into place w/ enough physical therapy & then the pain & numbness will even eventually go away on its own. She will just give you a whole bunch of different kinds of shots that either will somewhat numb the area on the spot or take away inflammation temporarily also, but nothing seems to be… permanent, & just like pain medication, I fell those shots were just a temporary cover up also for the real problem that lies under my skin. After she turned nice, by my reputation w/ my doctor/dentist now is still ruined ...recently my nerve pinched really hard again. I have no time for all those multiple appointments just for one procedure by Dr. Sparks. So I went to my regular doctor & now even he treats me like I’m Lying to him. Because of the way they treat me, I barely ever want to go to the doctors now even when my muscles are spasming up & everything gets all tensed & hurts, so as much as I can handle, I will try my hardest to just stick w/ my CBD/THC. It won’t get rid of that intense pinched nerve pain when it comes, but I guess I gotta find another doc or just learn to handle it on my own. Irritating!
