Dr. Daxton Hawks, OD

Dr. Daxton Hawks, OD, MBA, is an optometrist who blends scientific rigor with practical patient-focused care. He earned a bachelor's in physics from Brigham Young University–Idaho, an MBA from Southern Utah University, and his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Known for a thoughtful, evidence-driven approach to eye health, Dr. Hawks emphasizes vision biomechanics and digital eye ergonomics to help patients navigate modern visual demands.

Dr. Hawks completed extensive clinical internships at leading centers—including the University Eye Center (Anaheim), NVISION Eye Centers (Newport Beach), Lowell Community Health Center, VA Salt Lake City Hospital, the Moran Eye Center, and Four Corners Regional Health Center—where he gained broad experience managing complex ocular disease and specialty contact lens cases. His clinical interests center on computer vision issues, refractive surgery co-management, advanced dry eye …treatment, and fitting hard-to-fit contact lenses. His hands-on expertise includes care for conditions and services such as:

• Dry eye disease and advanced dry eye therapies  
• Age-related macular degeneration management

A native of Orem, Dr. Hawks is excited to return home and serve the community where he grew up. He served a mission in Boston (learning Spanish) and, after marrying his neighbor Tatiana (who helped him learn Portuguese), they started a family with two sons, Isaac and Hugh. Outside clinic hours he enjoys yo-yoing, BYU sports, Star Wars, piano, puzzles, and entertaining his kids with silly noises—personal touches that patients say make him approachable, relatable, and easy to talk to about their vision goals.
