Dr. Dean Francis Bajorin, MD

I recommend Dr Bajorin witrhout reservation. He and his staff are outstanding.

My husband had Stage 4 bladder cancer and lived for only 10 months. My biggest regret is we spent 4 months with Dr Bajorin. We knew he was terminal so I don't blame him for the outcome, but I did expect to be treated with some respect and kindness. You will not find that here. He should not be allowed around patients.

Similar to some of the previous reviews, Dr. Bajorin was dismissive, rude, uncaring, and reckless. His recommendation was to skip adjuvant chemotherapy, and just monitor for cancer growth via periodic CT scans. He failed to mention that studies have shown that a certain chemotherapy regime has been shown to have far superior results when compared to observation. Ultimately, other doctors at MSK weighed in and advocated for chemotherapy. Thanks to those other doctors, this patient is currently 9 months cancer-free. Overall, the experience with Dr. Bajorin was terrible both in terms of medical skill and bed-side manner. Please do yourself a favor and select one of the many other talented doctors at MSK. As a side note, Dr. Bajorin's office is also disorganized to the point of recklessness (lost test result, charts, etc.). If his office is so reckless when it comes to administration, one wonders how reckless he is in the provision of medical care.

I went to Sloan to see my brother, who has been battling bladder cancer. Dr. Bajorian came in on rounds. I had questions and started asking this guy very pointed questions. He was rude and dismissive and tried to put forward a flawed analytical construct. This guy is an arrogant jerk who will use double talk to try to overwhelm the uninformed. Some reviewers assumed his bad bedside manner was offset by better qualities as a researcher. Not so. He would flunk Bayesian probability, which is at the very core of clinical trials.

Dr. Bajorin saw us very briefly. He was abrupt with usalmost to the point of rudeness. He lookedannoyed when asked a question, and leftthe room after just a few minutes.He recommended no chemo and a follow-upCAT scan after a few months. My husbandwith 4th stage bladder cancer immediatelysought out another wiser, caring doctor,and was able to survive for over two moreyears with a good quality of lifewhile on weekly chemo therapy. Dr. Bajorin's main interest appeared to be in research, and I guess he had placed my husband to be left untreated, and put into his "control group."

I was told to go see Dr. Bajorin because of bladder cancer. I trusted that he was the right person to see from an oncology perspective. Unfortunately, our experience with him was not good. I was surprised at how abrupt he was. I tried to ask questions becuase I was so scared and so confused. You would think that he would know that since he is a cancer doctor and all of his patients are probably feeling the same way. Perhaps he has burnt out but he was abrupt, had no patience to answer questions, was defensive when we asked why he chose a therapy as if appalled that he be questioned. that should have raised red flags to me. But I was scared and I thought that since he was at sloan kettering, he should know. He doesnt. I am unimpressed. He is disrespectful, he does not care about patient care, he spends all of 2 minutes with you , the patient, most of the time looking at the chart and writing a script. very disappointed. should be ashamed of himself. wish I never put my trust in this… terrible doctor. you think that sloan kettering should have great specialists. This is no longer so. It is a mill, a cancer mill. what a shame. and shame on this doctor for his lack of bedside manner, his inability to communicate. he thinks very highly of himself. this is obvious but not deserved. I would recommend going to a different doctor or a different hospital.
