Summary
I was born in Uravan, Colorado. The town named after Uranium and Vanadium was a Union Carbide Company town. I'm told it no longer exists. My father was a geologist and we moved around a lot when I was young but I did most of my growing up in Fresno. In Fresno I remember warm summer evenings, trout on the Kings River, and seedless grapes.
I've been with Kaiser Permanente since 2002. My medical training was all in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles County - USC Medical Center. Before that I was an undergraduate at UC Davis. I always wanted to be in Northern California, closer to the mountains, out of the smog. Now here I am.
Kaiser Permanente is a wonderful place to practice medicine. Excellent colleagues, equipment, and information systems make it easy for a physician to do his best. As a radiologist, my main job is to help physicians who order radiology studies by providing them with reports that answer their questions, and help them to provide their patients with the best care.
…Interests and Hobbies
My ambition is to write a fiction novel - a good one. Fiction is my passion. So far, my passion exceeds my accomplishments, but I am persistent, and I love writing, and I love fiction. Someday I'll succeed.
Career & Medical Specialty
My post-graduate medical training was all at the Los Angeles County - USC Medical Center; a massive institution that I loved working at. I did one year of medical internship, four years of radiology residency, was elected co-chief resident, and then did a one-year fellowship in CT, Ultrasound and MRI. Nowadays I mostly work at the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Vallejo - a pretty big and busy place, too, and also a great place to work.
Family & Friends
I am married with two step-kids. I have lived in Napa since 1989. I keep in touch with a few old friends from high school, college, and from medical school. Some of those old friends (and their kids) join up every year for a one or two week camp-out on the beach in Baja - about twenty to twenty-five of us go every year. I look forward to that trip every year as my one big vacation.
Travel
Other than Baja, I don't travel much. I used to have the Travel Bug when I was younger, and adventured around a little then, but I don't have that interest these days. Perhaps someday, in the future, the Travel Bug will bite me again.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews
Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.
Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.
Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
