Dr. Dean Shoji Kashino, MD

The best. I have been with him 20+ years. Lately I've had some unusual issues and he was willing to step out of the box for me. I love how he cares so very much for everyone. He is unbelieveably intelligent. You would be very lucky to get the chance to see him.

Dr Kashino and his office have been treating our family for over 35 years. Our 2 grown daughters were delivered by Dean kashino and he is loved by us. His professional, thoughtful diagnosis and his friendly nature makes us feel like part of the family their office strives for.

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Kashino for decades now. Our confidence in him has been reconfirmed time and again. He has repeatedly gone beyond the call of duty in caring for us: seeing our granddaughter at a moment's notice during one of her visits from France, following up with phone calls, giving clear and reassuring explanations for his recommendations, staying in late on his birthday to help with a family emergency. He is as a close as you can get to the old fashioned family doctor, but with modern up-to-date knowledge and a wealth of experience. When considering health insurance our no. 1 question has always been, can we keep Dr. Kashino.

DR. Dean Kashino is the example of what every doctor to ascribe to. He is brilliant, compassionate, always available, has a tremendous work ethic, and genuinely cares about his patients. Our family feels blessed to have this doctor in our lives!

I have been a patient with Dr. Kashino since he started practicing in Santa Cruz county. His professional expertise, personal manner and attentiveness has been consistently excellent for more than two decades with my family. Antiquated medical knowledge. Horrible bedside manner. Can not make an accurate diagnosis if his life depended on it. Zero level of compassion for his patients. A disgrace to the medical profession.

I would advise being extremely cautious of this "doctor". Despite is prestigious position of the head of various medical commitees my experience with him was life altering in a very negative way. Firstly, his office visit annotations were so far from the truth of things I actually said and did, as well as things he actually said and did I did not recognize the person he was describing. Again, his notes were soooo far removed from what actually occurred during office visits, attempting to paint me in the worst possible light, for whatever reason. Additionally, any time he was unable to diagnose the problem he would show a look of contempt and scorn. Finally, when at our final visit he interpreted my anxiety surrounding my unrelenting severe pain as some sort of psychiatric pathology declaring with what he coined "complete certainty" that there was definitely nothing medically wrong with me. Such an arrogant "practitioner", holier and more important and powerful than God attitude. I… found him and his unscrupulous behaviors to be a nightmare. Lacks professionalism, empathy, and has no social skills or bedside manner whatsoever. Believes he is above reproach and can treat people however he wants. If you object to is in his notes and request to see them he ensures one gets thrown out of the entire medical foundation, a clear violation of HIPPA rights, which state there should be no retaliation for obtaining access to ones medical record. At least that was my nightmarish experience with him. He has permanently damaged my medical record with a blatant and reckless disregard for what the patient actually said. The statements he claims I made, and the conversations he states we had are so completely fictitious it is disgusting. Shame on him!
