Dr. Dean Kevin Knudson, MD

Ive been a patient for years , so phone time is my reality since 2020 But he does the job , knows his medicine, we go through the list of meds , check to see if they are working , and we are done . Short and to the point. He is a physco dr , not a therapist. He does his job and does it well

"Dr. Knudson, I feel lightheaded and nauseas on this Vlaylar"..."I feel your mind is playing tricks on you." This is a prime example of his gaslighting of his patients not to mention incompetence with regards to medication management. He put me on Wellbutrin and I slept literally zero hours; just rolled around in bed all night..."Don't go off your antidepressant!" I had to buck authority and go off it, but it caused a detox and felt very depressed. It's hard to consider him a MD, but apparently George Washinton let this hack get a diploma. Whether or not he should be defrocked from medicine or demoted to a nurse is the conversation for me, but he has earned his 2.4/5.0-star rating from his patients on vitals, but the thing is he does not change his behavior based on his abysmally low ratings.

Some one wrote you don't need a psychiatrist to hold your hand? WTH? He's a psychiatrist. His job is to listen to you. Every person knows themselves and their own body. Why hasn't he been sued into a oblivion. Never saw me and yes asked me those what like 7 questions over and over. FROM AN INDEX CARD. While managing to look away from me. It takes work to be this bad of a psychiatrist. I wouldn't put it past him to leave a good review for himself. Misdiagnosed me so badly. Don't go to him with a hangnail.

My son was mentally ill. He was in a program designed for people with his condition to get better. "Dr. K." is the assigned psychiatrist. My daughter took my son to several of his appointments; they were less than two minutes. I tried to call and let this man know my son was not doing well; never received a call back. I now realize my son had not signed a waiver. My son took his life a week after his last visit. No call from "Dr. K." No compassion.

If you have untreated or under treated trauma do not see this man!!!!! I have C-PTSD and ADD and went to this man for adderall -- in our first meeting he shocked me over and over again with his intrusive questions and unrelenting, rapid fire pace. After answering a final page of 10 questions - he did "math" for about 5 minutes and then informed me that he was diagnosising me as bi-polar and putting me on mood stabilizers. When people describe him as abusive -- this is a description, not a subjective assessment. Be very, very careful if for any reason you trust your care to Dean Knudson...

Dr.Knutson continued to shock me until I had no idea what was going on. He would not stop until he had me comic red for being unresponsive. Imagine that

He speaks fast, asks questions that I presume help him determine how I am and help him determine what next. I like him and appreciate his promptness, he returns calls, answers my questions and is interested in how I am. I don't need a doctor to hold my hand I have a therapist for that purpose. He performs his job well.

Doctor Dean Knudsen is a very unpleasant man. He will not let you speak unless it is to answer a preset list of questions He has for each visit. If you try to speak he will get louder and louder to the point of being abusive. I wouldn't let any man treat me this way. Why would I take this type of abuse from a psychiatrist on a regular basis. Doctor Dean Knudson has force a patient to have multiple electroshock therapys. He will not let you be involved in your own care. He is a very controlling egotistical person.

Last two visits were horrible! Dr. Knudson was rude, argumentative, and defensive. He had a new assistant who looked like she was close to tears- and it was early in the day. Felt sorry for her- he was probably very rude to her. Last visit Dr. Knudson argued with me about medication refill dosage- even though he wrote the previous script! He insisted on writing the script differently than he had last time, and disregarded me when I showed him how he wrote it last time. This caused an issue with my insurance when I tried to fill the medication. We went around about this the previous visit too. He was extremely belligerent. He doesn't seem to remember me from one visit to the next (I've been a patient for several years). Visits are 5-7 minutes, extremely brief, and then I'm charged $200 per visit. Practically pushed out the door, I've had to assertively ask multiple questions about medication details. When he does answer, the information is brief and lacking. The frequent… visits he requires are excessive and unnecessary; no other provided I've seen (for same issues) has required visits this often. It's expensive and irritating time-wise. Wonder if the excessive office visits were to enhance revenue or mitigate risk, but now I suspect he truly doesn't remember me. So when I call for a refill (as he told me I could) he's unable to place me and therefore requires (yet another) office visit. There's no familiarity on his part and no consultation to improve medication efficacy. Look elsewhere! And calling the office is arduous- there's a long message/ call tree/ that is cumbersome. Very inaccessible. Less time-consuming to walk in than to call! Staff are courteous, but vibe overall in office is strained. Like people are walking on eggshells.

I walked in. He said "How about those Vikings." Then he told me the medication changes he was making for me and then shooed me out of his office.
