Dr. Miyagawa is the most conscientious, thorough, involved doctor that I have ever worked with. He has been my husbands doctor for the last 6 years. He caught my husbands prostate cancer immediately, and when the local neurologists could not diagnose the cause of my husbands balance problems, instead of letting things just slide he set up an appointment for my husband at UCSF medical center, then worked extremely well with the doctors there. Not too many doctors will take patient care that far.

Bottomline, this doctor never diagnosed the early onset of my autoimmune condition despite numerous visits. He prefers you to see his nurse practitioner because he is too busy. When I described my abdominal pains he attributed it to a bad back. Only after a hysterectomy did I find out my small intestine was swollen and I had a chronic and systemic inflammatory condition which just does not show up on routine blood tests. I think patients are deceived by his smooth bedside manner but if you start asking him questions based on your own research, he will stop listening to you. And do not ask him about alternative therapies because he simply is not interested in keeping up with it. Not a doctor you can ask about combining prescription medication with natural supplements except basic vitamins and minerals.

My family has been with Dr. Miyagawa for several years. He is a caring doctor and his bed side manner is incredible. I would refer him to any of my family or friends.....

Dr. Miyagawa is extremely caring and provided diagnosis of sleep apnea from just asking a few key questions. He is a life saver (literally). We're in Sacramento now and I would continue driving over the hill but he's no longer on my insurance...

I have been here for 6 years and had 4 doctors in that time...then Dr. Miyagawa was recommended. WOW I finally found a REAL internal medicine doctor that I trust. He's great.

Dr. Miyagawa is and exceptional doctor. I feel so fortunate to be in his care. He always takes time to listen and is truly a caring physician. He is absolutely wonderful about getting back to me with test results. I would highly recommend this man to anyone seeking quality care from a very caring, concerned and knowledgeable doctor.
