Dr. Dean Kazuyoshi Otaka, MD

Dr Otaka is great! He is attentive and caring, assertive and aggressive toward seeking solutions to medical conditions. However, his staff does not meet efficiency standards. His staff is not adequate with follow-ups. They do not answer the phone 99% of the time. You will have to leave a message to which they will respond near the end of their work day. His staff appears to do the bare minimum. I deal with many doctor's and their staff, this staff ranks well below average in comparison. All other staffers are friendlier, more efficient and knowledgable. But, Otaka's staff find plenty of time to chat and gossip while on the clock. If only Dr Otaka would set higher standars for the service his staff gives.

There is no other doctor that I trust more then Dr Osaka. He is very straight forward and I appreciate that. He is caring and looks out for his patients. I will see no one else.

Ever you need answers, Dr. Otaka has them. He has been a doctor that provide professional counseling and optimal patient-doctor relationship. Its hard to find character in doctors now days, Dr. Otaka is an exemplar of what a prime doctor should be doing for his patients.

He's Attentive and caring. Is accurate and urgent. My concerns & opinions are valid.

It is frustrating when you have to call the doctor to get answers because nobody calls to follow up after a visit and/or having gone through a procedure. Two things were found wrong with me. One was not sure about the problem so a request was submitted to my insurance company to see if a procedure would be covered to find the problem. Five months later, not one word from Dr. Otaka regarding the outcome. I don't know if the insurance company denied the request, or if its still being reviewed. Went for a procedure to check something internally, had to call the doctor to find out the outcome and next steps to treat the problem. Dr. Otaka is very informative, but totally lacks the follow up

Dr. Otaka is a very knowledgeable and caring person. The service that his office staff provide is below average. I don't mind seeking his personal service but what a challenge and painful ordeal dealing with his office staff to schedule or receive service. Follow ups or referrals are also a challenge and I often find myself waiting (30 min.average) well beyond my scheduled appointment time before service is provided.

I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. I was looking for a doctor for my mother and was referred to him by my dentist. Dr. Otaka took the time to explain what the issues were and answered all my questions. I would definitely refer him to a friend.

Dr. Otaka is not your ordinary run of the mill Health care provider. He is however, a very caring, sincere, knowledgeable and concerned Doctor. He is proactive and not reactive.You can call him any time and always expect an answer the same day. He will go out of his way to find what ever it takes to help you with your problem and he won't quit until it is resolved. He is more than a Doctor, he is a Friend. His staff is friendly, courteous, joyful and accommodating. My family and I have been going to Dr. Otaka for 12 years, and never once has it crossed our minds to look for another Doctor. Once you visit his office you will remain a friend.

Very good and caring doctor. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Otaka and think he goes the extra mile with making sure I get the care I need despite the difficulties with the insurance and regulatory bureaucracy.
