Dr. Deanna Priscilla Mah, DDS

Dr. Deanna Mah grew up in Lafayette, CA and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University. In 1987 she graduated from UC San Francisco Dental School, with honors in periodontology for excellence in periodontal or gum surgery.
As our associate dentist, Dr. Mah, helps us maintain prompt access to care in her timely pinch-hitting role. As long as we’re using baseball analogies, we consider her a Golden Gloves winner for her gentle and patient approach to making beautiful work look easy.
Her artistic flair comes naturally because we also see it expressed in the elegant and creative jewelry she crafts for our annual November holiday office Craft Fair. Typical of her generous and encouraging spirit, she has motivated everyone here to contribute to it in their own unique way, including our patients. In true holiday spirit, it’s nice to know that when you buy something, you will not only be simplifying your holiday shopping, you will also be supporting Animal Friends …and Rescue Project, another of Dr. Mah’s “pet” concerns.
Although she doesn’t like to boast about it, Dr. Mah has also dedicated over ten years as a Big Sister mentor of a young woman who she has helped through pretty tough circumstances. Some people like to get in the spotlight. Others, like Dr. Deanna Mah, prefer to light the way for others. She shares her Pacific Grove home with two dogs and her husband, Norbert Wu, a renowned oceanographic photographer and author.
