Dr. Deborah Beth Abeles, MD

I loved the convenience of having A+ medical care right down the street and not having to go into Boston. I’m now 7 months post op, from the beginning of my journey until now, Dr. Abeles has continued to go above an beyond with her care. She has an awesome team (Dean and Jordan rock!) who I completely trusted from my first appointments. I’ve spoken to others who have had bariatric surgery and none of their surgeons can compare to Dr. A! If you’re thinking about getting an appointment, this is your sign!!!! She’s going to make your life AWESOME

Dr. Abeles did my surgery years ago at Tuffs and was very attentive. The surgery went very well and she even had to remove a hiatal hernia. She followed up before and right after and even called me after I got home to see how I was doing. I developed an infection in the main sight but she took me in right away and was great in getting me up and going again. Her staff also was great with follow up and answering any questions that came up through out the whole process. The whole team was just wonderful and very detailed.

Dr.Abeles changed my life. I was in such bad condition before finding the weight loss program. Pre Op i felt that all my questions were answered, even my repetitive and maybe irrational worries. She never made me feel like I was being annoying, which I definitely appreciated. My surgery went AWESOME, way easier than I anticipated, she checked on me in recovery and again in my room. I had developed a rash and called her on the weekend, she was helpful and concerned and didn't make me feel like a bother at all. She is wonderful. Life changer.

Dr. Abeles is a homophobic doctor. I would suggest if you are part of the LGBT community that you look else where, as she won't even give you the time of day or email you back threw the portal.

I have a feeling the previous reviewer is mistaken. Dr. Abeles is still doing surgery and she is an amazing surgeon. She is very thorough at appointments. Prior to my surgery she answered all the questions that I had and made sure that I was comfortable before surgery. After surgery she was always available for follow-up appointments . My friend is currently going through the program and loves Dr. Abeles just as much as I do. She can not wait to have surgery.

I had a gastric bypass done by dr.abeles. I have a very low self esteem, but she always manages to make me feel good about myself. A few months after my surgery, when i returned to work, i was having pain where the largest incision was. I had to call her after her office hours and she was very good about it. I explained what was wrong and she said it sounded muscular, try taking a hot bath or using a heating pad. She said to call her back if it didnt work, but it did. Just last week i had another issue I had to call for. She told me to come right in to be seen. I didnt have to wait long at all. As always she was very good to me. I have recommended 2 friends to her now.
