I am a surgical oncologist and a member of the Breast Surgical Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York and New Jersey. I specialize in breast cancer surgery and provide the full range of procedures including breast conservation surgery (lumpectomy), sentinel node biopsy, and mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction. My special interest is in nipple-sparing mastectomy, a procedure in which the breast tissue is removed through a small incision and which results in an excellent appearance.

Regret choosing Dr. Capko as my surgeon. She is incompetent. Could not do a simple surgery correctly. The scars are bad. The margins are bad. She did not tell me many important details and facts about the poor surgery she had performed. I would call omitting to tell important facts to the patient because it would reveal her incompetence a "malpractice". When she speaks, she tries to scare and intimidate you into the most aggressive and unnecessary surgeries and treatments. Stay away from her. Would not recommend her to anyone. I picked her assuming all MSK doctors were decent but it was not the case. My confidence in MSK has done down since my surgery by Dr. Capko.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Capko! She is caring, confident and extremely knowledgeable. Her confidence and reassurance gave me confidence throughout. I will forever be grateful for all she has done for me.

Poor bedside manner. Wish I read up before allowing her to perform my surgery. Being diagnosed with breast cancer is bad enough without having your surgeon be rude and sarcastic.

I will never forget the panic I felt after being diagnosed with Breast CA! As soon as I met with Dr. Capko, I new I was in good hands. She and her RN walked me through the process, answered all my questions and calmed all my fears. I cannot begin to express how important that is when faced with a diagnosis of Cancer. The team is responsive when I have a question or a concern. I cannot begin to thank them for helping me through this very difficult time in my life.

good surgeon, but very poor with aftercare. very sarcastic, rude, condescending, resented questioning her opinion

One of the best doctors I've ever met, and I've met a few. I was an RN in NJ for 20 years, before I became her patient, and am most satisfied and impressed with Dr. Capko's skill and professionalism.

Appreciated her directness. I wasn't looking for a friend, I wanted someone who knew what she was doing.Yeah, she has a high opinion of herself; but when I needed her help draining a seroma that developed; she met me at her office Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7:00 am so I could go to work as a Golf Professional.
