I have never in my life spoken to someone so unbelievably horrid. She refuses to let you explain yourself, or what is going on, and immediately shuts down any type of discussion about your care. She should not be practicing medicine, and I am appalled that she has managed to avoid a malpractice suit, but with her personality, I'm assuming most people who meet her don't give her the chance to treat them for long. She has an almost psychotic personality, and no, I'm not trying to be funny. She flips without any real reason, and I would be in fear for my life if I were seeing her currently. She SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING MEDICINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most rude, uncaring, and frankly almost psychotic provider I have ever seen. She is angry, doesn't listen and treats everyone like a drug addict. She is rude and disrespectful to her patients and staff. I feel bad for the nurses and MAs who have to work with her. If you need a Dr. To listen to you go somewhere else. She won't help you at all.

I saw this doctor for a couple of years. She seemed friendly and promising for the first few appointments. She wanted me to see a specialist, who in turn wanted me to have a test done and bring the results with me to the appointment. I called Dr. Coates' office to ask how I should go about getting the test results, and was told by an employee I could get them from that office, Dr. Coates' office. I called again a few days before seeing the specialist, Dr. Coates answered, and when I made my request she BLEW UP. Screamed at me for a good two minutes without pausing for breath. SHE didn't have the results; why would SHE have the results; she NEVER had the results, etc. I was shocked. Never had I seen any supposed professional behave this way. A few days later, I called again, hoping to explain that I'd received incorrect information from her own employee (and also hoping to hear sanity on her end) and the moment I mentioned the test results she blew up again. Shouting, ranting: "Why… would I have the results," etc., except this time she also said, "That was ME you were talking to! I told you I didn't HAVE the results!" For two seconds I considered trying to explain that the misinformation had been given to me in a different call, but why bother. This was far from the only time this person had shouted, made ridiculous accusations, denied facts such as instructions printed on medication information sheets, refused to listen and failed to show up for appointments, leaving me in withdrawal. (Her explanation? "You should always confirm your appointment before you come." Wha...?) Her unreasonable, volatile and extreme behavior frankly scared me, especially considering that she was, as several reviewers have said, convinced that everyone was cheating, trying to fill prescriptions early and so on. I quit her practice by going to my family physician and describing her behavior. I haven't seen her since. My opinion: She shouldn't be permitted to practice medicine. At the least, her personal problems , whatever they are, overwhelm her ability to do her job.

Words can not describe the uncaring attitude of this so called doctor. She absolutely thinks all patients are drug seekers/addicts and convicts, because they want some quality of life via medication. Do understand this woman will ruin your life and any help you are currently getting. She denied me all meds, took a urine sample, sent me to physical therapy in withdrawal. This cant understand normal thinking doctor needs her license revoked from practice.

This office is a joke. I needed there help after my surgery. My doctor scheduled an appt. I was told to come 30 mins early. I came 30 mins early but by the time if found the office 5 mins had passed. I was told that they had changed the policy that you had to arrive 45 mins early to see the doctor and I was now 20 mins late, so the doctor couldn't see me. But the did agree at that point to make me another appointment. They made me a 1:45 appt. The nurse said she was going to write my arrival time so there wouldn't be any confusion. She wrote 1pm arrival time on my card. Then I got a call that said that I had missed my 1pm appointment and that the doctor had said that she would no longer see me. I tried to call the hospital and talk to someone in hospital administration and was given a name and number of the administrator over that area who never returned any of the 3 calls I placed to him. Do waste time trying to see this doctor you would be wasting your time even making the… effort.

I have never had an experience with a more uncaring, uninterested, and unhelpful doctor. If you are interested in getting help for pain management, I would recommend going to ANYONE ELSE.
