Dr. Deborah Diane Hamby, MD

I saw Dr Hamby after a scheduling mixup and my usual Dr was unavailable. I am so happy it worked out this way! Dr. Hamby is practical in her approach, empathetic, and patient. Genuiune, and direct. I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to meet with gynecologist that provided answers free of condescending concern, presented all options and associated risks, and sllowef me to chose MY treatment. This is how doctors are supposed to behave, but so many seem to think their perspective is more relevant than their patients

She raised her voice at me and was not very thorough. I could tell she was getting agitated by my questions. I didn't want her to just prescribe me a pill and walk away, I was pregnant and wanted to understand a few things and she was not helpful or kind at all.

This was my first appointment with Dr Hamby. I was there for a yearly exam and pap. Also, I was due for a mammogram. When she interrupted me and raised her voice within 2 minutes of meeting her, I should have walked out. But I was overdue for a mammogram and since my neighbor has breast cancer, I did not want to put it off any longer. She spent approximately 2 minutes with me. Since I am almost 70 years old, I feel she should have been thorough. I believe since I am older and on Medicare, I was not a person from which she would be able to make money. I will never go back.

Dr. Hamby is a gem. She is caring, fun, thoughtful, efficient,an excellent diagnostician, refers to other excellent professionals and interested in you and your life beyond your OB/GYN needs. I'd wait hours to see her if I had to but you don't.
