Dr. Deborah Hughes, MD

Just left her office regarding a follow-up consult for my mother. I found her to be rude, unprofessional, condescending and insulting. She cut me off repeatedly, didn't have any desire to hear what I was saying in regards to the care we were providing my mother, and irrationally assumed we were disengaged from her care. She flat out said if I wasn't going to be engaged in the conversation during the appointment that she couldn't deal with me (because I was asking questions and said I would have to confer with my sister on some of the care my mother received while I was out of the country???) and that she would disengage. I was LITERALLY TAKING NOTES AND ASKING QUESTIONS!!! That was the WHOLE point of me going with my mother to the appointment. I finally stopped talking and continued to be on the resulting end of her condescending jabs at the lack of care she felt my mother was receiving (with which we have been working with multiple care providers on for the past 2 years - but she… had no interest when I tried to explain that to her).

She acted like a high school rich girl, knew less than I did, was dismissive and said there was nothing wrong. A regular MD was able to diagnose A-fib immediately. People become dr’s for the wrong reasons-she’s one.

She is not that nice . I felt very uncomfortable and her attitude made it worse.never going back. Not friendly AT ALL.

Dr Hughes is the cardiologist for both my wife and I and we are extremely pleased with the services she provides and her friendly yet professional manner. I would highly recommend her for any heart related issues. Works very well with and between other providers we have. She is a wonderful doctor and person.

We found her to have a chilly bedside manner, no sense of concern or urgency, and a general lack of empathy. We have found another heart doctor.

I have seen Dr. Hughes several times. She is bright, articulate, sweet and has a sense of humor. When she doesn't know the answer, she studies and has it the next visit. Great doctor and cardiologist.
