Dr. Deborah Shira Presken, MD

I do not recommend. First, she has no employees in her empty office. The people you call are seem to be contracted through her AI assistance app, ZocDoc and are remote workers with limited response windows and no real access to anything. That needs to be in person from my experience Dr. Presken sat and talked to me acting like she cared, regardless of my current medical situation. She ordered labs from all over the place unneeded and then charged for the initial consultation as if it were a normal doctor visit. How could I be established?! That was my first appointment with her. I then get a bill for a $35.00 co-pay (I should not have a co-pay -- it looked to be coded so more money can be billed). That visit to just talk and send me to third party vendors was billed at $373.00??!! I did not even decide if I wanted her as my PCP. Now, she made that very easy. STAY AWAY! FAR AWAY! My new PCP is sooooo much better. Attentive. Actually listens (actively), no over billing,… actually has employees and not an EMPTY office. SHE USES AI AND LIED ABOUT IT! AI is being used and when asked, she stated "No, AI is not used in my practice." - A LIE! She uses ZocDoc. That app is AI. STAY AWAY!

Dr Presken is my Favorite Doctor! I just love how concerned she is about my health. She is always welcoming, very, very throughly, undeniable patience, makes sure I understand in layman’s terms. I feel like she treats me the same as a family member. If you are an older person, as I am, I highly recommend Dr. Presken as your PCP.

How is this woman still in practice? Extremely rude and money hungry. Poor office management. Likes to run unnecessary testing repeatedly.

I don't believe this doctor should be practicing. There is zero collaboration or even contextual dialogue allowed as a patient of this person. The signs were there the first and second appontment, when I was told stomach concerns would not be discussed (?), and at the third appointment - about 8 minutes long - when I was talked over and dismissed when seeking more than surface information about a plan. After seeing hundreds of negative reviews across multiple rating apps that share the same basic story, I deeply wish I had looked into this person first. No one should be subject to this poor of an experience, and I wish I could leave zero stars here. Even if she was a highly skilled, remarkable physician and could perform absolute magic, isn't investing in the mindset and education of the patient a component of being a succesful medical professional?

I've read some of the reviews, I'm sorry but I think you people are loopy. Dr Deborah S Presken is the best Doctor I've had to date. She listened to everything I had to say and has given me her recommendations and was so concerned that I have a follow up appointment scheduled for next week. She is professional but has a caring side to her. Just talking to her and having her support makes me feel better. If I could give her more stars I would. xXx

OK if you have a cold, BUT anything else she will send you to specialist after specialist for the most minor things, it is tiring. She had great staff a couple years ago when I started, but nothing has been stable since then. Finally found a new dr close by, world of difference!!

just now Seriously the most rude and money-hungry doctor I’ve ever been serviced by. She carries herself in a way that’s only concerned with getting patients in and out and barely gets to know you. She’ll find any opportunity to have you come in again so she can charge you for her mediocre service. She fails to give courtesy reminder to not eat or drink before blood tests if she decides to take one which has incorrectly produced blood results and then requires you to come back and charges you again for the service. She does not know what she’s doing - she inaccurately diagnosed me with a possible case of diabetes and sent me to her recommended endocrinologist. When I went to the endocrinologist, the moment the doctor walked through the door, she looked me up and down and laughed and told me there’s no way I have diabetes and that Dr. Presken took my blood work wrong twice. She even mentioned that she has heard from referred patients that they don’t like Presken Family Care. Save your… time and wellbeing for a doctor who actually cares, actually knows what they are doing, and isn’t concerned about trying to milk your wallet for money. When you have backbone enough to call her out for her poor practices, she’ll just discharge you via letter and request you not come back.

This year something happened at the office and lots of changes and it has gone downhill with care. I am looking elsewhere now for a new dr with a stable staff.

I felt like Dr. Presken listened well during our visits, and I felt she was thorough. However, the business side of the practice is horrible. Communication is sloooooowww! And if you would ever like to speak directly to Dr. Presken, be ready to pay for a full office visit. I have only been a patient for about 9 months, and I already have had to work far more than a patient should ever have to in order to try to access the staff for important communication. I can't imagine if I had more pressing medical needs!
