Dr. Deborah Faith Stanitski, MD

I saw Dr. Stanitski as a young adolescent at Children’s Hospital of Detroit for a period of almost 2.5 years for scoliosis and kyphosis. I was placed in a brace for a year and a half and one visit she told me “you’re fine, don’t need the brace anymore” and by the way- I’m moving so I won’t be your dr any more. Fast forward to now: I’m an adult, married and thinking of kids- I have persistent back pain, have spent thousands of $$ on chiropractic care and yoga and should have sued this woman for her supposed medical advice- total waste of time and money and now my body.

This woman is the reason I am where I am today.

As a child, I had several reconstructive/leg-lengthening procedures performed on my lower right limb, all done by Dr. Stanitski in Detroit. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and skilled medically, she was also the kindest and most personable medical professional I had and have since encountered. Since her relocation, I have had to see other orthopedic specialists as new issues arise, and while many are perfectly skilled and friendly, I never feel like they (take the time to) understand the specific needs my condition presents, and I always long for Dr. Stanitski's input.

Was treated back when she was Dr. Bell at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, then again after taking her married name. She pushed the bureaucracy to allow for better care and became a long term part of my recovery after two leg lengthening procedures. She is an outstanding medical doctor with a fantastic personality. After being in the care of many other orthopaedic specialists, she truly stands out as an excellent doctor.
