Summary

Dr. Deborah Viglione is a board-certified internist with 36 years of clinical experience. She began her medical career after receiving a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Air Force and completed her Internal Medicine training at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was deployed during the first Gulf War to England, where she helped establish a former WWII hospital, and her final duty station was Edwards AFB in California, where she served as chief of the Immediate Disaster Team and managed care following aircraft accidents.

After leaving the Air Force, Dr. Viglione established practice in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Early in her civilian practice she began treating complex, poorly understood conditions such as Gulf War Illness, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia. Finding conventional approaches limited for these patients, she expanded her training into natural, alternative, and complementary therapies and for the past 20 years has practiced integrative internal medicine. She focuses on identifying and treating underlying causes using nutrition, dietary supplements, and detoxification strategies, while recognizing and using pharmaceuticals when they are appropriate and potentially life‑saving.

Services offered include:

  • Integrative internal medicine consultations
  • Evaluation and management of Gulf War Illness, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia
  • Nutritional counseling and therapeutic dietary plans
  • Guidance on dietary supplements and targeted supplementation protocols
  • Detoxification and environmental-health approaches
  • Early outpatient treatment strategies for acute viral illness
  • Patient education and advocacy

One of the first steps to improving health, Dr. Viglione believes, is ensuring the physician and patient share a clear understanding of how symptoms limit daily life. She spends time comprehensively assessing how illness affects each patient and develops individualized plans aimed at addressing root causes, reducing symptoms, and restoring function.
