This is Dr. Wagner. I recently discovered these reviews. Since there is no way for me to respond, I must do it this way. I frequently treat children caught in contentious custody battles and/or are being protected by child services that are mandated by the courts to see me. Unfortunately, occasionally the parents are more concerned with their own agenda rather than what is best for their children. This may sometimes result in a report to the courts that is unfavorable to a particular parent. When I treat these children, my professional and ethical duty is to them; to be the unbiased adult professional with whom they can feel safe and who will advocate for them. Sadly, this may result in vindictive behaviors on the part of parents who are not able to fulfill their own agendas. I believe I know who wrote the negative reviews and they were all by the same person of the ilk just described. I also believe this person will continue to write false reviews. Many therapists will… not get involved in these cases because of the challenges and risks involved. I do because I know these children need that trusted professional in their lives to help them through some very painful and confusing situations. The singular truth in these reviews is that I do end my sessions on time out of respect for the next patient that is waiting. Nonetheless, I have a very open policy regarding communication between sessions. I encourage emails, phone calls and texts if one of my patients is struggling. I don’t want my patients to have to carry their distress for days or a week until their next session. In the over thirty years of practicing, I have treated hundreds of patients and have cared about every single one. I have published 2 books that will reflect my engagement with and empathy for my fellow human being. I have reached out to a few people who can shed a different light on me to write a review and I hope that others in my profession won’t be subjected to the hurt and potential damage to their reputation that has transpired here. Dr. Wagner has been extraordinary. Over the past few years she has helped me recover from my lowest point. She is brilliant in that she is able to find underlying issues you are not aware of. Her calm, understanding and caring nature gave me the opportunity to get the answers I was looking for throughout my life. She’s the one professional I have interacted with that treats you like a human being. Her way of intently listening not only makes you feel supported, it allows you to learn why you think a certain way and how to change negative behaviors. I always find her feedback to be invaluable. If you are struggling and need assistance, Dr. Deborah Wagner is by far the best psychologist around. She saved my life, there are no two ways about it. Thanks Dr. Wagner, thank you for everything.

Zero stars. Utterly horrid. Will take you for all you are worth without any consideration for the negative impact she is having on your life. Not remotely helpful.

Oddly manipulative. One of those people who seems to have gone into the mental health profession for strange motives- so they can be in control. Charges shockingly high rates for children (350 a session), while disingenuously claiming that ‘the child has bonded with me’. The only thing that seems to be ‘bonded’ is this doctor’s happiness over large ongoing fees.

Dr. Wagner was ok as a therapist but from my experience it was a total waste of time and money. She is more concerned about how much she can get from you than actually helping you. She charges almost $300 for a 45 minute session and be very sure she will kick you out exactly at time or a few minis before. I saw her for a few months and realized she was dragging out therapy to milk me for all that I have. She didn't help me at all and I only realized that when I began seeing someone else who knew what they were talking about and was interested in actually helping me. Don't waste your time or money here, I wish I hadn't.

I saw her for a couple of months last year and very quickly I noticed she seemed to be more concerned about the money she was making off me than in helping me. I was new to this process so I didn't know better and kept seeing her. After a while I started seeing someone else after the red flags with her became more and more apparent. The difference was quite stark, with the new person I began to notice very quickly a change in my life. I'm writing this review for anyone considering therapy here, all that happened to me was that I lost thousands of dollars and months of wasted time. Its hard because you can also loose faith in the process when this happens but there are some good therapists out there. I just wish I had been deterred from coming to Dr Wagner or had the awareness to leave much sooner.
