Dr. Deborah Yao, MD

We have seen Dr. Yao for all 3 of our children for the past 7 years (until we moved away), kids ranging from age 1 to 14 through those years. She is knowledgeable, very thorough (I prefer a more conservative, careful doctor), takes her time to answer my questions, always follows up with us, and has been really on top of care for our kids. When we had a very difficult diagnosis based on symptoms one of our kids presented, she was very speedy in getting the right tests/x-rays taken ASAP and referring us to the best hospital in the area (CHOP) for IMMEDIATE care. We've had all kinds of health issues (allergies, asthma, dermatitis, plus a few other major ones), through healthy and sick seasons, and she's always been right on top of things with us through the years. I've seen several other doctors at the practice, but she's our favorite. Several of my friends have used her as pediatrician, with excellent recommendations also. We all love her!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED DR.YAO. SHE WAS THE ONLY REASON I STAYED BUT ITS DIFFICULT TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT. ALSO I HAD AN EMERGENCY WHICH I COULDNT MAKE AN APPT THAT I HAD TO RESCHEDULE( LEFT A VOICEMAIL EXPLAINING), BUT BECAUSE THEY HADNT CHECKED THEIR VOICEMAIL I WAS CHARGED $25 FOR NOT CANCELING. THE STAFF IS NOT THOROUGH ENOUGH TO PREVENT MISTAKES AS SUCH.

We have always had a great experience here.. Both of my kids go here.. Highly recommend them.

It's frustrating not to be able to get a live person on the phone when scheduling a well visit. It usually take 2-3 return calls to finally catch up with them. The office staff is generally not courteous. Wait times are long. The only reason we stay is that Dr. Yao is exceptionally personable and thorough.

I was very unhappy with Dr.Yao during my visit. My 2 year old daughter had been running a fever of 103 for 5 days already and was constantly sneezing and coughing,but Dr Yao diagnosed her as being perfectly 'fine'. I was not happy with that and took a second opinion, and the other pediatrician diagnosed my daughter as being severely congested,to a point of infection. Overall very disappointed with Dr.Yao.
