Dr. Debra Koenig Cantor, DO

I have never seen a Dr with such an attitude, and as RUDE as she was in front of my daughter, I love Cathy and Amanda wonderful nurses, I loved Dr Halim, makes you wonder why she left the practice? She was my daughters dr from birth, but the bedside manner horrible, I don't see how this woman is a children's Dr?!? Never making eye contact, slamming tools down on the table,the rolling of the eyes,bitter attitude,won't t give you a second to exsplaine symptoms, cuts you off in the middle of talking, I could continue on and on, however I have found my daughter a new pediatric dr, further drive, but there is no limit in distance for her to have a dr that she feels comfortable with and is excited to see instead of scared...beware and good luck!!!

Very disrespectful dr. She has absolutely no bedside manner and I can honestly say that we will never go to her for any treatment. There were 2 out of 3 visits over the last 2 years that she was extremely rude to us. I honestly believe that she gets patients mixed up and thinks that she knows everything about you when in all actuality she knows nothing! Then she just rolls her eyes when you try to talk to her.

She is the best pediatrician I could have ask for. My kids and I love her.

Dr. Cantor may not be a doctor who will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. She's a bit brash in her manor, but I have been coming to her for 8 years with 3 kids and have always felt confident with the care she provides. I would much rather have a stern, highly qualified doctor than with less experience that makes me feel good. Dr. Cantor has always addressed my concerns and fears and spent time with me and my children going over all of my questions and concerns. I don't take the care of my children lightly, and I feel confident with the care I am receiving from Dr. Cantor and the team at Swift Creek Pediatrics. She's not going to win any awards for being peppy and bubbly, but if you can get past that she's an excellent doctor.

Dr. Cantor is a "straight shooter". She is to the point and accurate with the information she is giving. She is a fantastic doctor, especially for parents with multiple children.

Horrible practice. When my son was 10 months old he had a seizure in the middle of the night, we rushed him to the ER and it was determined that he had a fibril seizure. The ER told me to make sure I saw my Pediatrician that day (it was after Midnight when we were seen by the ER). I made an appointment with Dr Cantor for that day, just as the ER had said. When we arrived the nurse took us back and got all the details, as soon as she heard we had been seen by the ER within the same 24 hour period she rushed out of the room. She then returned 10 minutes later saying Dr Cantor wouldn't see us that day b/c Insurance doesn't usually pay for 2 visits within 24 hours. I was extremely upset that Dr Cantor wouldn't see him. Luckily my mom was with me and watched my son while I called my insurance company, which verified that they had never heard of that "rule". Hung up with the insurance company and gave the nurse the info, she then went back out to Dr Cantor and relayed the info. Still she… wouldn't see us until we had a pre-authorization number from the insurance company. So I went back on the phone, got the pre-authorization number and gave it to the front desk. Since it took 45 minutes for all this to happen, I was informed that DR Cantor didn't have time for me anymore and I would have to reschedule. I refused and they told me I could wait. So we waited for over an hour and finally we were seen. Dr Cantor was completely rude and said I was over reacting to the seizures. We were sent home with no orders and just a blanket statement that my son was fine. Less the 2 hours later my son was being rushed to the ER in an ambulance having another set of seizures, which resulted in lots of testing and a few days in the hospital. My son is ok now, but it was a scary week, turns out it was all caused by his fevers, the result of an ear infection missed by Dr Cantor.

If I could give this woman 0 stars or negative stars, I would. I am a first time mom of a little boy, and obviously I have a lot of questions. To start things off, the staff is very rude and unfriendly. But I would give them 10 stars if I had to compare them to Dr. Cantor. She is not only a terrible doctor, but a terrible person to be around. She is rude and impersonal, and she doesn't have any desire to please parents, or kids at that matter. The nurse comes in the room first to take the baby's temperature, etc, and ask what we are in for that day. Dr. Cantor comes in with her laptop and reads her "diagnosis" off the screen like a robot. You CAN NOT interrupt her - she will just keep talking right over you. You can not ask her any questions - she will repeat to you what she just read off the computer screen. She is absolutely no help at all. I've learned more about my baby and diagnosed more of what goes on with him on Google. Never has she asked how we are doing or how… our baby is doing. She doesn't notice that he is growing teeth or that he smiles at her or that he is sitting up by himself. She barely even looks at him, just at her screen. The last time I was in there was because I thought he might have an ear infection. Obviously, he did not want any part of her putting the tool in his ear, so he was screaming and squirming around like a normal baby would do. She was so frustrated with me that I could not hold his legs and arms down at the same time, that she got in front of me, flipped him (*not gently*) onto his tummy, laid on top of him with her whole upper body, and pressed his face down on the hard table with her forearm to look into his ear. I picked him up and she shoved a tissue in his face, and then in to my hand. She told me nothing was wrong with him and that he was just congested. (He was not congested at all, he actually has another small tooth coming in). She told me a medicine I could give him, but I couldn't hear her over him screaming. I asked her to repeat it - she did, and just stared at me, holding her laptop, until I said thank you. She said nothing and walked out. We've been there for the first 7.5 months of his life, and I swear I will never step foot into that building again unless it is to personally see Dr. Cantor lose her pediatric license and for her to never be allowed to touch another baby again in her life. I don't understand why this woman is still in this field of work when she obviously hates it. I wish I could explain how truly AWFUL this woman is. Please believe all of the bad reviews - she is much much worse!!!

Some of these reviews are a bit much. You cannot please everyone, however, front desk staff is amazing, Tammy, and the other doctors are great, caring, and listen. Dr. Cantor however is terrible, rude, and condescending to say the least. I have gone as far as having a note placed in my daughters chart to make sure she is never scheduled with Dr. Cantor. I called tonight for a recommendation since my daughter has had a fever all day of 102.7 or higher, except when Motrin would bring it down for a couple hours in between. I would not make it to kidmed before they close so I asked if she recommends me going to the emergency room. Clearly if I were a doctor I would not have to call and "bother" her, which is exactly how she acts, bothered! She states "do you run to the emergency room every time you have a fever?" I reminded her I'm in my 30's and can explain other symptoms, which would allow me to make a more informed decision on how I seek treatment. My 2 year old however is not… quite ready to verbalize her symptoms.

If you are looking for a doctor who is rude and treats you and your child like trash then you found her. Believe the negative reviews, they are true.

Don't bother with the other reviews. This is a review from a parent that has 3 children and has been with Dr. Cantor for 6 years. If you are looking for someone to sugar coat your kids and you then she isn't the right choice for you. If you would like a Dr. that will make the hard choices for you then you have the right person. She is not going to give you pills for every little ailment that you deem important. She is going to get to the point check everything out and answer your questions. She has children of her own and she is going to teach you how to be a better parent in regards to their health. We have called after hours, called in a hurry, everything imaginable and the entire office reacts promptly and professionally. If you are looking for a professional doctors office and an extremely knowledgeable doctor and staff then you have found the right place. We absolutely love Dr. Cantor and have recommended many friends to her practice. She was so helpful to us when we were 1st time… parents and didn't know our blank from a whole in the ground. If you are looking for the internet to help you make a decision regarding the health of your kids you are wasting your time! Set up and appointment with her and many others prior to having the kid! We interviewed 8 different pediatricians before making our decision. Just by reading the review below you can tell that those folks don't have brains worthy of having children in the first place. Who makes a pediatrician decision 3 hours before having a kid? Clueless!, Never the less take my advice and interview many and you will come back to this one as my family did.
