Dr. Debra Jean Helper, MD

Dr Helper has been my doctor for crohns since 1998. She has never given me anything but excellent care. She really knows her stuff.

To say she is the best doctor in her field just doesn't say enough. Yes, you might wait to get an appt or you might wait at your appt but she is well sorth the wait. While you wait you will hear other patients say she gave them their life back or better yet saved it. At your appt she takes her time, she is thorough, she considers all your health issues and she explains in detail what she thinks is best for you.

I have gone to Dr. Helper for more than 10 years and I have Crohn's disease. She is truly the best communicator and caring physician I have ever seen. I was diagnosed with Crohn's at 18 and have gone to 4 other physicians so I have some perspective. She is very knowledgeable not just about the disease and its management but how it affects my life and offers concrete suggestions to make it easier to manage. If there were are 5 start rating she would have it. Yes - she does run over time but when she is with you, you do not feel rushed. Take a book and relax - your time will come.

Dr. Helper has been my doctor since I moved to Indianapolis in 1993, and I have never had a better, more concerned, more caring physician. She is the best in her field and the best at treating Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
