Dr. Debra Beth Luftman, MD

Debra Luftman burned my skin years ago and I will have the scars forever. She just put her head in the sand and refused to respond. We reported her to the CA Medical Board, but she must have paid them off. Stay away from this sociopath.

I have been seeing doctor luftman for over 15 years and feel that she is the best dermatologist I have ever seen. As a teenager I had severe eczema. I had seen many different dermatologists who were unable to help me, finally my mother found doctor luftman. I would see the doctor every few months. She was always very concerned for my wellbeing as well as my skin disease. I feel that because of her treatment and her support I was less self conscious than I might have been without her care. She was always on top of the latest treatments and when ever I had a flair she would make sure that I would be seen right away.Now as an adult my eczema is mostly cleared, except for the occasional climate related flair.About 6 months ago however I developed extreme hair loss. I went to my family practice doctor who was unsure how to treat this problem. I then went to doctor luftman , who asked me about any medical issues I may have had. I explained that I have recently felt incredibly tired. … She recommended that I have my thyroid checked and found out that my hair loss is actually due to a low thyroid. I went back to my family doctor and have been receiving thyroid medications and my hair loss is now stopped and I am growing new hair.I am so grateful for this doctors care and will continue to recommend her to anyone who asks for the best dermatologist.

I Was referred to Dr. Luftman over 10 years ago and found he to always be caring and incredably professional. If you have an emergency the office is always great about getting you in to see her even if its after hours its comforting to know she is available, I wouldnt hesitate to refer her to friends and family which I have and they are still patients, she is also one of the few derms that take my insurance. When I made my first appt for a mole exam she did a full exam and even found some pre-cancerous spots that I didnt even know I had. I am so pleased that she is my dermatologist, and appreciate her warm and caring nature.

I recently saw Dr.Luftman for the first time on the recommendation of a friend.I initially saw her for a full skin exam and had her check my moles as well as skin care. It was definitly the most complete skin exam I ever had! She also was very helpful in simplifing my skin care routine. Previous Derms have tried to push alot of creams on me....but Dr. Luftman told me I only needed a cleanser , sunblock and a prescription cream for my occational breakouts.I was very satisified after the first visit...and partcularly liked how helpful her entire staff was. But it was what happened on my next visit that really impressed me. I was stupid enough to pop a pimple on my face and the next day developed extream facial redness and swelling. I called Dr. Luftman's office in the morning and they immediatly fit me in to see her.She told me that I developed an infected abcess....she reassured me that all would be ok. She then drained the abcess and cultured it , put me on antibiotics. The… next day she personally called me to see if I was ok, and then fit me in again at the end of the week to make sure I was better. It was this personal touch to feel that this doctor really did care that makes me want to write this!!

I will be happy to recommend Dr. Luftman to anyone looking for a dermatologist.My experience with Dr. Luftman and her office staff has been consistently professional, caring and interested in me as both a patient and an individual.I have been a patient in this practice for over 10 years. At one point due to an insurance change I had to see another dermatologist, but I immediatly returned to Dr. Luftmans office. Over the years I have recieved both cosmetic and medical care and have always been satisfied and impressed by her knowlege and compassionate care. My children have also "grown up" with Dr. Luftman. She has taken care of them as young teens with acne, and now as adults, my children still go for their annual mole checks. I can say when ever anyone asks me for a recommendation for a dermatologist, Dr. Luftman is the first on my list.

by not using the proper laser or level of laser for a very simple removel of broken blood vessels. I have deep grooves, scarring, loss of tissue, and small holes in my face due to her negligence. She didn't say a word, or respond to any inquiries about what she did. I reported her to the medical board, but she is stil practicing. She should not have a license. I did not pay her and she did not ask for the money b/c she knows what she did. She is so lacking in integriy and honesty. Karma.

I am really impressed by Dr. Luftman and her staff. I was referred to her by a friend who has been seeing the doctor for over 10 years. From the moment I called her office her front staff was extreamly helpful in making my appointment to giving me directions.I came to see Dr. Luftman for a recurrent rash, which was misdiagnosed to be a fungal infection by another derm.Dr. Luftman took alot of time examining me and talking about my condition. She preceded to diagnose my rash as psoriasis. She explained that this is usually a genetic and recurrent problem..but explained that it can be controlled with treatment. Finally, I had answers and real releif with her treatment. I visit her now every 6 months, and find that she is a very caring and thoughtful doctor. I can now say that currently my rash is all clear and I would recommend this doctor to anyone looking for an excellent dermatologist.

This is probably the worst doctor that I have ever seen. She did not properly diagnose my disorder. The disorder she diagnosed me with can only be diagnosed with a biopsy - which she did not perform. She then proceeded to prescribe the strongest topical steroid available and in the most expensive form available which I later discovered was completely unnecessary. She saw me for less than 15 minutes before I felt pushed out the door. A biopsy and opinion from other doctors comfirmed that I do not have what she diagnosed me with, did not need the medication she prescribed, and was improperly instructed on its use. I also requested medical records 6 months ago, and have yet to receive them.

I"m 68 years of age and unfortunately have suffered from dermatological problems since infancy. I've been treated by many doctors who've treated me with shots, salves, creams,and other treatments i don't even recall.I'd become very discouraged...constant outbreaks of severe dermititis and then a horrible case of rosacea. I called Dr. Luftman in desperation. She calming prescribed two things that worked almost immediately. (This was a year and a half ago.)The rosacea has cleared as have the dermititis and hives which i have suffered from my whole life. I'm so grateful to Dr. Luftman. I encourage anyone in need to check her out.

Dr. Luftman saved my life!I went to see the doctor for a cosmetic procedure. When discussing the procedure she recommended that I have a full body exam,,to check my moles.I had never had a full skin exam before..I knew I had a lot of moles..and I have seen other dermatologists before for acne and botox but when they checked my moles they only checked the ones I was worried about.Dr.Luftman was very complete. She literally checked my skin from the top of my head to in between my toes and everything inbetween!During her exam she saw a dark mole on my mid back. She didn't alarm me , but reassured me that it was best we just take a sample to be safe.The biopsy she took was actually pretty painless...I was scared but she was so reassuring as was her nurse ...I barely felt the numbing shot.She told me not to worry and no matter what the results were the office would call in a week.True to her word the doctor told me that the mole was irregular but was caught extreamly early.I went back to… see Dr. Luftman that week.She explained that I had a very early form of melanoma and that by removing it so early .I would do well.I consider myself very lucky to have a doctor who cared so about my health...that she recommended that I have a skin exam when I just came in for a cosmetic treatment!
