Dr. Debra M Ray, MD

I accompanied my friend to the doctor this morning. Her appt was for 10:20 a.m. and we arrived at 10:15 a.m. The office was full of patients. My friend was seen by the nurses at 10:45 a.m. and had her blood drawn. At 11:30 a.m. I asked the receptionist why it was taking so long. She got very defensive and asked me if I would like to speak with the office manager, which I did. I was told by the office manager that their office had to abide by the regulations imposed on them by Barnabas Health Group which entailed scheduling appts every 10 minutes. This is absurd and abusive to the patients. Not only is it impossible for a doctor to examine and answer questions in 10 minutes, but it places the doctor in a very tenuous position; for the patients are so stressed from waiting that they lose faith in their practitioner. In addition, the waiting room did not have any windows or ventilation, so it was like sitting in a germ incubator. I am sure that the medical community would agree… with me, that this is not a way to run a practice, and I hope to see a change the next time I am there. We were finally seen by the doctor at 12:00 p.m. and yes, the appt only took 10 minutes. I can not wait to see what the office billed for those 10 minutes!

Dr. Ray has cared for me for approx. six years; administering and monitoring my chemo, advising management of its effects,and then diligently overseeing check-ups and screenings going forward. I can't express how grateful I am for her care.

And she's made a crazy illness- bearable.
