Deena Midani, MD

Dr Midani was exceptional. First she apologized for being late and offered to reschedule if it wasn't convenient to wait. Then she listened actively to everything I said and gave feedback and suggestions. She was helpful, warm, caring, and treated me like an intelligent adult (not always true of medical professionals, unfortunately), and she responded to all my concerns.

I've already recommended this MD to a friend based on this sole experience. I'm kicking myself for not changing GI docs sooner!

I saw her a few years ago, and it was the worst experience ever! I was shocked to see her good reviews on Cedars website! Clearly, there's something wrong there. Over the years, I've seen most of the GI doctors at this location, and can honestly say.. Dr. Midani is the rudest, most pompous doctor I have ever met anywhere, in all my 60+ years of living. I left there wondering why is she in "health care", and thinking Cedars must be desperate. Her lack of tact, bad attitude and condescending words blew me away. She was impatient and not willing to listen to my concerns, nor willing to collaborate on possible solutions for me. I was there for a consult, and it appeared her only goal was to make a sale. She did not seem informed about treatment options and was not focused on me or my issue. After waiting 3 months to see her, I was terribly disappointed due to her attitude and cookie-cutter approach. Nothing was achieved! And, the condition of the room where I met with her was not sanitary.… The floor was dirty and stained, and the chair I sat in was so badly ripped I hesitated to sit. I would never recommend anyone see this doctor, unless you don't mind being diminished and made to feel insignificant.

Dr Midani really cares about her patients. She's very accommodating, answers every question thrown at her, and I love her smile. She's very smart and has a great way of explaining things that can be understood easily. Great physician!
