Dr. Deepak Navin Patel, MD

I had called Dr. Patel's Office on 12/23/2024 for an appointment for my initial visit and consideration for making him my PCP since my current PCP is retiring. His office gave me an appointment for 2/4/2025 @ 9am. Today, I went for my appointment and was at his office at 0845. Doors were locked, knocked on the door, no one answered. Few minutes later, a male employee (assumed) unlocked the door at 0855. I was still waiting outside. At 0905 a receptionist walked in. I went in and wrote my name as a patient with 9 am appointment. She turns on the computer and told me the office does not have me on their Calander. She asked me my insurance information and she right away told me that they don't take my insurance. Dr. Patel is listed as a provider for Memorial care insurance. The receptionist's conversation / interaction with me as potential customer was very unprofessional. I asked her to speak to Dr. Patel just for few seconds, she told me that we have to charge you consultation, then I… asked her for his email, and she said they don't have that either, only his card. I was very disappointed with the experience as well as access to physician. If patient cannot access to his physician, how are they are provided care by Dr. Patel's office. Though there were no other patient in the office, she said they are fully booked. I looked around and wonder what she meant since there were no patient waiting in the office. I am not in position to make any judgement on Dr. Patel's ability to provide care for his patients since I did not get to see him but the experience with his office leaves me with many questions about the services that he may be providing to patient. Dr. Patel can reach out to me if he has any question, or would like to discuss the incident currently I am employed by Long Beach Memorial medical center as an Executive Director for Laboratory Services.

Dr. Patel sees three of my children..he is a kind and caring doctor. He is patient with children, he listens to our concerns and explains and answers any questions that we have. He seems knowledgeable and thorough and makes referrals to specialists when needed. His staff have always been kind and pleasant to my children and I. One area I noticed that needed improvement was follow up on referrals and returning calls. However, I called and mentioned this to them and they did improve in both of these areas. They acted quickly to get another referral for my daughter, and they have since returned my calls promptly.

I'm 44 years old. I have been a patient of Dr. Patel for over 5 years. I wouldn't think of ever changing doctors.

My husband has been seen by Dr. Patel. He ordered labs for next visit but we have to call his office to request to add 2 more pertinent labs PSA and LFT for my husband so he doesn't have to go back to labs again and just have everything drawn at once. But this doctor is so inconsiderate and didn't give us our request, saying, he has to see my husband first for physical. PSA and LFT is for preventive you don't need physical exam for this. Simple request he cant give to his patient. We have a schedule to see him again and he wants my husband to go sevreral times to labs when he can have it done at once. His Med. Secretary or front desk is very impolite and discourteous too. Pls people, spare yourselves from misery, don't go to this office. We have PPO Insurance and yet we we're treated like SH_T!!! Go to a doctor and with office staff that will treat you with utmoist respect that you deserve!!!!
