Son had intense lower abdominal pain for MONTHS - response received was “that’s not my area, go see your pediatrician, that’s what he’s there for”. Really? Last time I checked you are a GI DR!! Had to cancel an endoscopy because his pain was so bad. Repeatedly asked if she ever looked into his lower GI area and was told “I took x-rays back when you first came in”. Finally we called CHOP to set something up w/ their Eosinophilic Esophagitis clinic. On mention of going to CHOP, she immediately perked up and FINALLY wanted to examine our son and sent him for another xray of his lower GI. Low and behold! He was incredibly and almost dangerously backed up/constipated. Had we not mentioned seeking out other medical advice she never would have listened. I can’t count the number of times she gaslit me about things that were THERE in plain sight! She even wrote in our chart “Mother is overwhelmed and scheduled a second opinion at CHOP” Yes I did!! And they are actually listening to us!

I came for second opinion but ended up transferring my kids GI care , she is very kind doc and understands parents fear, highly recommend

I have to transfer my child's care as the GI we followed left the practice suddenly and our kid was so sick . We have been so happy since the transfer , kid's treatment is stream lined, number of meds are decreased and child feels so much better. It is difficult to find a good doc, we are staying with Dr Tewari

We have seen so many GI doc's but Dr Tewari is the best. Infact my son does not even want to transfer his care to adult doc as Dr Tewari has been so helpful, caring and understanding
