Dr. Deidre Rose Alder

Deidre is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who manages and treats adults with a wide variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, ADHD, PTSD, schizophrenia, sleeping disorders, and male/female issues. Her passion and advocacy for mental health care began after completion of nursing school in Jamaica. She realized that this specialty in nursing was one of the most underserved, and was highly stigmatized. She has spent a total of 18 years as an RN caring for patients with acute and chronic mental health issues and 1 year previously as a PMHNP. Deidre believes that all patients should be treated with compassion and should experience quality comprehensive mental health care. Deidre received her Master of Science degrees at the University of the West Indies, Mona in Jamaica, and Maryville University, St. Louis. She possesses strong communication and clinical skills and has the ability to connect with people of all …backgrounds. Deidre provides medication management as well as faith-based, motivational interviewing, culturally sensitive, and emotionally focused techniques in her treatment plans. She also strongly believes in empowering clients to be more aware of mental health issues through education and believes in engaging them in a therapeutic rapport where they are active participants in achieving their mental health goals.
