Dr. Dejka Marida Araujo, MD

I would rate her 0 star if there was an option. She does not know much about treatments for her patients in spite of her years in the medical profession, in addition she is so poorly behave around her patients like their lives do not matter to her. She is mean and cold and lacks sense of empathy towards her patients, she seems to want to be in the state of authority and not a caring doctor, I think she chose a wrong profession, she should not be working with people and specially in health care industry, I am very surprised MD Anderson has employed her for that long!

Met with my 16 yr old nephew who was diagnosed with a huge mediastinal synovial sarcoma and asked us why we were even bothering consulting with surgeons. (Ie. You guys are wasting your time getting second opinions).Said he had 2-3 yrs. My nephew just had a successful R0 extraction of the tumor at (CHOP) Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (Dr. STEPHANIE FULLER). MD Anderson should stick to treating adults. Childrens Hospitals like CHOP deliver the real miracles.

Low moral standard. Poor medical ethics.

She needs to be in a different occupation. She clearly has no business dealing with people- she is cold, uncaring and made a horrible experience of a single parent having to find treatment and care for her very sick son.... the most horrific experience you can imagine. Please find another doctor!!!!

How is she an employee of MD Anderson??? She is has clearly picked the wrong occupation. She is cold, mechanical and truly the worst person you want to deal with when you have a child fighting for their life and the family is just looking for good care and hope. Can’t say enough on how terrible this doctor is.... she needs to be an account and work with numbers.... not people...EVER!!!

This doctor thinks quite highly of herself and if you come from out of state she has little use for your primary oncologist. POORLY prepared each time when we have come to see her. Records and information sent to her from your oncologist hardly get a glance over or not all. Mechanical and can't even find information on papers right in front of her. She NEVER returns information to your primary oncologist, which costs you a trip to Houston only to find out you didn't need to make the visit after all! She FAILS to let your primary oncologist know this! What is money to her to spend on a trip to Houston! You're just a number to her and if you don't fit her criteria she has no time for you! Walk, no RUN away from this oncologist!! You have to grovel to get any information which she does not offer. If you don't qualify for one clinical trial, she makes you beg to see if you qualify for any others! Never offers unless you ask. Cold, manipulative! Uncaring!!

Dr Araujo is an excellent, caring physician

Was my daughter doctor. She put her on a medication that was not approved for her cancer and we lost 10 weeks of precious time that could have been used to find an appropriate trial. She is cold and unemotional. Would not recommend. When you ask questions she does not explain.
