Dr. Delphis C Richardson, MD

This man was extremely rude, arrogant and had a disgusting god complex. He also hushed me while he was talking to my child.

My son was diagnosed with ADHD 7 years ago. We have seen a few different doctors over the years and, aside from the long wait, our appointment Dr. Richardson was such a refreshing experience. He was the first pediatrician to ask several questions, give him a completely thourough exam and provide understandable explanations for some of the challenges we were facing. Dr. Richardson was very pleasant, did not talk down to me or make me feel like I was an over protective mother. My son and I walked away from his visit feeling like the wait was worth the experience. We were both very happy to have a better understanding of where he is and what his needs are.

While Mesa Pediatrics is excellent, Dr. Richardson is AWFUL. I've had only one experience with him (I'll never go back); took my child to see him for a same-day sick visit when she was 13 months old and very ill. She had a high fever, vomiting and diarrhea, and hadn't kept fluids down in more than 12 hours. She was looking very dehydrated, and hadn't urinated in at least 8 hours. Dr. Richardson diagnosed her with a virus (his diagnosis was correct), but said that the dehydration and lack of fluid consumption was no concern; he said she could go "days" without drinking water or any other fluid and that I shouldn't worry about her until she stopped producing any saliva or tears. I started to cry because I was so scared and frustrated, and he told me, very callously, "Well, no one said motherhood was supposed to be easy." I left his office and went straight to the ER, where my daughter was immediately put on IV fluids and was admitted for a several-day hospital stay for extreme… dehydration. I can't help but wonder how much worse things would have been if I'd taken this doctor's advice and waited until she was near dead from dehydration before seeking help.

Extremely educated and knowledgable. Takes time to sit with us and out son to discuss any and all questions.
