Dr. Delvon I Ferguson

THE WORST 5 MINUTES OF MEDICAL SERVICE I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED. I refuse to give him the respect of the Doctor designation so I’ll call him Delvon. I went to Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola Fl for for issues with my vision. It was the 3rd day of blurry vision. I waited a few days to see if it would go away. When I googled flashes of light and blurry vision on all platforms the advice was go to urgent care or the ER. Urgent care close 5 minutes before I got there so I headed to the ER afraid of losing my vision. The triage was a pretty quick and acceptably courteous process. After aboiut an hour I went into the ER room and encountered a few nurses, they were busy and polite enough. However when Delvon came in to ask what was going on his whole vibe was giving hurry up and explain your issues. I explain the flashes of light an blurry vision in my left eye and googling the issue. His immediate response was “oHHH you googled” and “you should have went to your primary”. I just… hung my head in disappointment because I could see the type of arrogance and evil that would shame someone for knowing or attempting to know any information on topics that he took years to learn. I understand enough about doctors to know some are good and some are not and the ER was not the time to clap back on him as he was an authority figure in my situation. After explaining he left and came back about an hour later to shine a light in my eye and then left again. I did complain about him to the nurse who apologized for his behavior. After having a cat scan I was told he would be back in but I never saw him again. I wasn’t surprised.that he would not close out the experience. Why would he condescend to complete the visit for someone who shouldn’t have come to see him in the first place, right? After 3 hours of different nurse coming in to tell me we were waiting on him to come back to discharge me and being told towards the very end of the visit that he “might” pop his head in I was discharged without his discharge advice. Honestly I’m not sad he didn’t come back and hope to never see him again ever. In my professional life I recommend providers and facilities to health insurance beneficiaries but cannot recommend Sacred Heart Hopstial ER because they choose to keep Delvon on staff with his consistently low review ratings. They were better than this in the past. I wonder when they dropped their standards of care.

Delvon Ferguson, DO is insensitive to patients, makes fun of patients when explaining health issues/symptoms. He SHOULD NOT be treating patients at Sacred Heart ER or any other hospital. He is condescending and cruel toward patients-no bedside manner as mentioned in other patients negative reviews.

Dr. Ferguson does not think outside of a tiny ER box and has a horrific bedside manner. He did not looked at the medical history provided to him, and when the ER tests did not show obvious cause for the symptoms presented he literally laughed at us and blew off the symptoms -- which have been the subject of extensive testing and under the management of a neurologist for 3 months -- as anxiety. I have never in my entire life seen a doctor laugh at a patient. His arrogance was disgusting. I am just appalled by Dr. Ferguson. He has a lot of growing up to do as a doctor, if his arrogance does not prevent him from taking a critical look at himself and how he treats people. I feel sorry for the future patients that get caught in his learning curve.
