Dr. Demetrius E Litwin, MD

I saw Dr. Litwin twice in a 2 year span, presenting with severe gallbladder symptoms and an extensive family history of gallbladder issues. Twice, he incorrectly told me that it was not my gallbladder and was probably just IBS. I finally went and saw a different surgeon in Fitchburg, who confirmed that my symptoms were "textbook" gallbladder symptoms, and took me for surgery, during which he found my gallbladder severely impacted with "sludge." The other surgeon removed my gallbladder and all pain and fever symptoms went away. Years later I had an opportunity to review his notes in my patient file and found that he had not listened to a word I had said in either consultation and had listed symptoms that I had never said I had. I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone based on the two experiences I had with him.

My stomach had slipped through a large hernia in my diaphragm and was lodged in my chest, sharing space with my heart and adhered to one of my lung sacs. It had been like that for God knows how long. Going into the surgery, I must admit, was scary but Dr. Litwin's confidence in his own abilities and his big smile was assurance that I'd get my life back without any more pain, discomfort, and suffering. It really was that simple. I have new energy, am restored with my worries washed away and new strength in my being. He's a bundle of positive energy moving through the world. I will be forever grateful. Thanks again, Dr. Litwin.

Excellent Laparoscopic surgeon!

Performed a major surgery. When I went for follow-up visits, Dr. Litwin almost always had someone else meet with me instead of showing up himself. This is after I drove 9 hours for the appointments on multiple occasions. Overall, Dr. Litwin seemed great before the surgery, but his manner changed almost completely after the operation, at some points even coming across as disrespectful. I ended up having to visit another Surgeon a year later in order to fix the "work" that Dr. Litwin had done.
