Dr. Denis Diaz, MD

I put my trust in Dr. Diaz as a surgeon albeit I had been operated at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville twice for unexpected thyroid issues flawless experiences. I decided I stay local in my small town in FL because of trust and Diaz making it seem so routine and successful that I would be at the gym the next day. From 3/21/22 the day of surgery, I have never seen a gym. Not only did I only have possibly a slight inguinal hernia on my right side but there was zero/none on my left. Later many images (MRI’s, Cat Scans, and Ultrasounds) prove I never had a hernia to begin with on either side. Probably explains why when I asked him prior to surgery if a scan would help confirm he said it wasn’t necessary. I have allergies to penicillin, food and environmental as well which is a tall tale sign I have learned as possible FBR foreign body rejection when the body fights for its life to rid itself of something that doesn’t belong.. As I was being wheeled into the operating room when you are… under the most distress of course, I was asked to sign a waiver that included viewing my left side said Diaz at that moment stating men have a 30% chance of having a hernia on the opposing side. I specifically said we already discussed this, have checked it and I barely have one on my right side. I agreed to have him check it. Upon awakening, I was told I had 2 meshes, I was drowsy but very upset. Diaz placed 2 4x6 max 3D meshed on my small frame or 44sq inches of poison plastic. A product with both systemic and migration issues so with lots of lawsuits. Upon arriving home, I could not urinate and was asked to come back which they applied a catheter poked around to realize I was bone dry. Once they gave me fluids and everything checked OK, I was sent home only to be ambulanced to the ER with a steady heart rate of 160 later on that evening heading’s into cardiac arrest. (Mind you at rest I'm at 54). They called it a reaction to the anesthesia yet at the Mayo clinic for longer procedures never an issue. The first 90 days I couldn't keep anything down. Still have a super sensitive stomach and the 3 areas were they went in have some soreness. From there the fun begun were fibermyalgia types pain slowly crept it's way in. Neck, feet, thoracic, lower spine, hips and buttocks. Numbness here in there in my face and numbness from knees down and on going flu like symptoms. Some of the pain has been horrific. Mind you I did suffer from L4 ans L5 herniation for years but that was well over a decade ago. But this is certain not close. I have seen every possible specialist to rule anything out. I have well over 25 ER visits and 400 pages of medical tests and go in and out of disease ridden state but always sickly. Prior to 3/21/22 I was 187lbs, 15 percent body fat and could run until dawn and a few daily gym rat competing in various spartan races each year. I'm at the point of removal and have selected a good doctor. One of a handful that is really good with the DaVinci unit and robiticaly removing mesh although it's a dangerous operation I don't have many options. I share with you my experiences so you can make a better decision before you start to trust this doctor or practice. It takes a lot to take out a former Marine but mesh is certainly to say the least challenging . After he’s done with your surgery there’s no support unlike when he’d romancing you for the business. For any and all discomfort he sends you to pain management and has no answers for you. Like Becton Dickson the MFG of Bard Mesh he’s a drug pusher. Millions are afflicted by this product.

Dr. Diaz is highly professional, takes his time with each of his patients and likes to be informed about every aspect by asking questions. I recommend him to everyone's parents out there looking for an excellent pediatrician for their children.

Dr. Diaz and his staff have been wonderful. Dr. Diaz takes the time to talk to you and doesn't rush you through the visit. He even called with test results after hours.

Artificial bedside manner immediately picked up by my child. Quick to improperly over-medicate and guilt trip parent into unwarranted medication. Billed incorrectly. Will not go back or recommend.

Dr. Diaz is awesome. He is friendly to the children and takes the time to listen to them. He is very thorough with his well child visits and makes sure to check everything out.

Excelente Doctor

Excellent Dr and so glad I made the choice to take my kids to his office. He is now both of my kids pediatrician (8 & 4 months). He is extremely nice, easy going, knowledgeable, and absolutely great with my kids. He has great bedside manner and encouraging. Look forward to him guiding my family along the way as my kids grow up!

Place was clean and appealing to children, 150% better than where I originally took my new born. So glad to have made the change! The whole staff was awesome!

Dr. Diaz is a great doctor. You can tell when you meet him he loves kids and he cares about his patients. He is constantly asking if you have questions and reminding the parent to call if there are any questions. I have never felt as if he is ignoring or trying to rush through the apointment and push asside any of my concerns. I very rarely wait long to see him and the rest of the staff at duke childrens primary care are also wonderful.

If he ever leaves Duke we will follow! He has been my pumpkins Dr. since she was a preemie and has the most amazing bedside manner. We love him!
