Dr. Denis Leroy Gonyon, MD

I had a lump of scar tissue and five birthmarks removed from the back of my head. Prior to the procedure, Dr. Gonyon was very adamant that the hair would grow back. He repeated this multiple times. I went in for a check up a couple weeks later and was told the hair would grow back in 4 to 6 weeks. Then, several weeks later, Gonyon told me that he was "very confident" the hair would return. After emailing and speaking telephonically with two of the employees, I was told, "in most cases the hair will grow back." As a side note, I noticed several instances of staff members being incompetent. The nurse, Olivia Whalen, stopped responding to my emails almost from day 1 after they realized they had screwed up. She also called the scar tissue on my head "breast tissue," multiple times. Dr. Gonyon also said "I don't think we would have been able to do that [the surgery] if your hair was longer." These people are truly not the sharpest. I also told Dr. Gonyon that the lump of scar tissue was… from an old wound a long time ago which he disregarded and misdiagnosed me as having a lipoma instead. Nothing Dr. Gonyon said was true and now I am left with a giant nasty looking bald spot on the back of my head (and not all of the scar tissue was removed). Furthermore, the moles that were removed were not simply shaved off with the scalpel like they were during past successful removals. An incision was made and they were removed from the inside and then stapled shut, leaving me with more bald spots on my head. I did not agree to this method and did not realize it was the method used until too late. Words are not enough to describe what I have been going through. Do not go here even if your life depends on it! Don't believe anything that Dr. Gonyon or his incompetent staff write in reply to my review. The Colorado Board of Medical Examiners has taken two disciplinary actions against Dr. Gonyon.

Poor, inadequate communication between surgeon and patient. Upselling is more important. Conflicting post-op instructions. Poor, disfiguring post-op results. Implant size not thoroughly discussed with patient prior to procedure. Minimal patient education. Overpriced. Very poor bedside manner. If your intuition is telling you no, please continue researching other surgeons to save yourself heartache and money.

AWFUL doctor that only cares about trying to make women's breasts as large as he can. They gave me the run around for a year after messing up my boob (implant was too big and the shape is like a football) - he kept saying it would get better and it never did. They told me they would fix it, and then their new CFO went back on it and said that her new role was to make sure the company was profitable. They only care about making money. My biggest regret was coming here. I now have to go somewhere else to fix what he messed up. I cry all the time and am so embarrassed of how my breasts look.

Dr. Gonyon performed my breast augmentation and I couldn't be happier with the peri-operative experience and my results. He immediately made me feel comfortable with his warm and compassionate demeanor. My consultation, surgery, and post-op have been amazing. Now I'm just waiting for final results! I highly recommend Dr. Gonyon and will continue seeing him for any additional cosmetic needs that may arise. I am a very guarded person and I trust this man to literally cut me open. Absolutely amazing experience.

This Dr. has gone far and above anything we expected of him. During my wifes surgery, a unexpected complication surfaced. Dr. Gonyon took complete control of the situation, contacted and consulted with another surgeon, and assisted that Dr. in the surgery. Due to the complication, our recovery time has been, to say the least, extended way past the normal time for the original surgery. He has been by our side, and stuck with us thru this whole process, when he would not have been expected to. In our opinion there is not a better plastic surgeon in the area.

I was absolutely terrified when I was told that I needed to see a plastic surgeon . I needed to have a complete rhinoplasty. From the time I walked in the door, I was treated like I mattered, and that I was very well cared for. Not only is Dr. Gonyon a wonderful doctor his whole staff are absolutely the greatest team I've ever seen in the medical field!! I'm so happy, they really step up to the plate.

Dr. Gonyon is amazing. He was very informative at my consultation and I chose him over two other surgeons. He did an awesome job on my boobs. I sent him two friends and they are sooooo happy. Dr. Gonyon is the best.

I was referred by a friend who has her breas augmentation with Dr. Gonyon. I was the third friend she referred to him and he has done an amazing job on all of us. My husband and I couldn't be happier!

I had fat transfer done and when it turned out uneven, Dr gonyon didn't want to even it out. I didn't keep asking because I don't want him doing anything else on me since he didn't want to. (Prior to my appt I asked him if it turns out uneven, if he'd even out things out wout an additional charge and he said yes). He didn't keep his word and didn't do a very good job.
