Dr. Denis Garth Patterson, DO

This was a huge waste of my time. I went in for a procedure I have had many times in the past. I only saw the RN not the DR which everyone knew they he could not do what I needed. On a follow up appointment, I only saw the actually doctor for 15 minutes and he was beyond rushed. Did not take the time to get to know me or what had happened to me in my past. Then they were not upfront with me and only billed things through the pharmacy not the doctor which was not covered. Will not see this Dr again.

This Dr cannot be trusted at all his practice will milk you and your insurance and fraudulently bill them I have the paperwork to prove it which has been provided to my Medicare advantage insurance I spent six months with his practice and accomplished more pain after a nerve ablation my chiropractor had me at a level 5 pain after 7 years after a bike accident and in less than 24 hrs I was at a level 9 thanks to probably irreversible nerve damage it’s been 3 months now pain is 24/7 can’t get enough pain meds looks like pain pump now which I wouldn’t have needed please do yourself a favor and read all the one star ratings Patterson has he’s terrible doesn’t take his time he also hit a blood vessel during ablation bled all over table with a flouroscope this is rare but double whammy bloody mess and wrong nerves total fraud and trust me he hasn’t heard the last of me ??

I had been a patient of NAP for 18 months. Dr Nairize was my doctor until he left the practice to start his own. Today I had the misfortune of meeting Dr Patterson. Young, condescending and very arrogant. It appears his business plan is to withhold the necessary amount of medication to control pain and "upsell" things like pain pumps and spinal cord stimulators as they pay much better than writing a prescription. If you dare question him he becomes visibly angry and his answer will be a forceful "I am an expert"! Another go to move is threatening to cut your prescription. Experience shows people that feel the need to use the "expert" statement are insecure in their "expertise" or are trying to hide their true agenda. He will use the "opiod crisis" to justify this deceptive practice and then quote CDC guidelines. The problem is he is using the CDC guidelines totally out of context as they are directed at General Practioners and NOT pain management clinics. They… will also mislead you by inferring the CDC regulates the amount they can prescribe, another total lie. If your are looking for a doctor with integrity and a desire to actually help people with chronic pain look elsewhere. Apparently Dr Patterson is using the political climate and "politicall correctness" to sell his patients expensive procedures that may or may not be helpful. The staff are very nice. This review is from first hand experience and even though accurate is just my opinion.

I rarely saw Dr. patterson unless it was for a procedure. I always saw Delamora for visits, she is rude and uncaring. I guess this is standard with all pain management doctors in Reno area, very nonpersonal and cold, kinda like assembly line patients. Dr. Patterson during all my procedures was so busy chatting it up with his colleagues or aids that he rarely spoke to me,(probably the reason he screwed up my ablation), even when I was screaming in pain, no reassurance, no compassion, no empathy, not a single word directed at me. He would just keep up his own chattering agenda with everyone else in the room. So rude and uncaring. On my last procedure (an ablation for right hip) he did something wrong. I was in such pain and misery I could not move for weeks without extreme pain. I called his office over a dozen times, the only thing they would say is to take more neurontin. I was eventually taking up to twelve, 800 mg daily which did nothing. They refused to see me, they refused to do… anything else. The advice that Delamora gave me was to take more and more neurontin which was all done over the phone, I am sure it was done this way so as not to have any paperwork showing their advice. At the very minimum they could of offered some sympathy and seen me again to try and figure out what went wrong, but I guess that would be admitting guilt. I have since learned they could of at least offered a Toradol shot, a stronger temporary medication, run an xray or MRI, a pain patch. I know they would not have treated their own parents this way. I honestly believe Dr Patterson got into pain management because of how lucrative it is and not out of caring about his patients pain.

Please get a second opinion before settling with Dr.Patterson, I wish I would have at the beginning.. I had 5 surgery's in 14 months with Patterson over neurotransmitters!! I finally left & had it removed.. It does NOT give you a better quality of life at all. Once I had neurotransmitter removed I have a 50% better quality of life. I also discovered that I never should have had a neurotransmitters inserted to begin with. One more thing I have to mention is that Melissa Demore Patterson's nurse is rude, snobbish & absolutely unprofessional. I was referred to Spine NV. & they are wonderful, I give them a 10 star rating.

Thank goodness for Dr. Patterson. He saved me from acute back pain. I would never take an opioid and he believes in the most minimally invasive approach to healing. I had to crack up reading some of these negative reviews...People must be so high on drugs, they lose a sense of all reality. Insurance companies don't pay doctors. "Another Pain doctor told me he gets paid...." Sounds like that pain doctor is jealous to me. He probably gets paid to train people how to do things for these companies. You should get paid for that. Do your research. See the best.

I am deeply disturbed to have been informed by another pain management doctor that this former doctor of mine was paid over $80,000 last year by medical companies he endorses. How can he practice medicine in an unbiased fashion when he’s being paid off to recommend a company’s product? Do yourself a favor and find out which pain management doctors are not bought off and get unbiased, quality healthcare.

Dr. Patterson has always been great with me. I have received a number of procedures in his office. The procedures have helped me a LOT! I would recommend him to others that are in need of pain management.

Reminds me of someone who got beatup in school and now has an opportunity to get even with people. He is not a caring person at all and if you cant meet that standard you have no business being in the medical field. Save your money and time see someone else...

I was seeing Dr. Patterson for about a year and half. No procedure he did for me has helped. The last epidural he gave me, has crippled me with shooting pains down my legs. When I got home from the procedure, I could not walk for over three hours. I called Dr. Patterson over four times, and never got a call back. When I finally got to see Dr. Patterson, we got into an argument about my condition. I was even kicked out of his office. If you value your health, do not see Dr. Patterson.
