My experience in dealing with Dr. Dittemore has been a positive one. She is professional, courteous, prompt and friendly. She has on more than one occasion, gone out of her way to help me get the care and attention I need. Her staff is friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant with very little wait time. I highly recommend her to those in need.

I have been seeing Dr. Dittemore for about a month or two, and in that time I have come to the conclusion that she is good at her job. She is pleasant (albeit a bit quiet side vocally) respectful and so far I have had no problems with either her or her staff. I highly recommend making sure you go over her diagnosis a couple of times to be certain it's understood.... something I am having a slight issue with but that's probably just my own doing. I do recommend her.

I saw Dr. Dittemore for many years. While she is soft spoken, I often found it hard to talk to her. She was very dismissive about any of my concerns and wasn't really interested in learning new things. She seems very jaded by her job and it's something you can sense after talking to her for a while. She never really went deeper into my problems so that they might be solved, I did not have the "correct" diagnosis for years, which would have been discovered by a simple question. It became mostly my fault for my lack of progress according to her, and by the end of it I dreaded seeing her. That's not how you're supposed to feel about your doctor when you're trying to get help. Do keep in mind that of course all of my problems are not her fault and at the end of the day I'm responsible for the choices I make. However, psychiatrist can sometimes make new avenues to recovery for us or leave us stranded, depending on their experience, attitude, knowledge, humbleness, willingness to learn, and… understanding.

She jumps to conclusions too hastily on superficial or circumstancial data. For example, on one appointment, I commented that there was no improvement in my conditions while on a certain medication. She respnded that there was an improvement in my hygene since I first came there (to the clinic) In fact, the only improvement was that my hair was combed, and that was only be cause I had recently gotten a haircut. She failed to notice that I had not shaved properly; this was because I had shaved in haste in order to make the early morning appointment that day. Also, on another appointment, she threatened to have my social security payments stopped I did not "voluntarily" approve a certain medication--without having demonstrated a real need for the medication, nor having thoroughly investigated other methods of treatment that might work. All because I was naive enough to mention that I had been abused in the past by other psychiatrists.
