Dr. Denise Ann Hastings, MD

Dr Hastings is super! She has been my pcp doctor for 20+ years. I seek her out now that she is semi retired and floats. Her dialogue with me is always great. I can see her reading thru my records scanning my health profile. Her multi field experience is evident in her diagnoses of any current concerns. At 75 there are sometimes several. I only wish I could spend more time consulting with her, but fortunately my visits have been few.

I have seen Dr Hastings for years. She saw me through a health crisis and has always been kind and listened well.

She should seriously get another job since she obviously doesn’t care for people. I went to Denise last year and haven’t gone back even though my prescriptions have expired and I need to get a checkup. She made me feel like I was an annoyance when I requested she signed off on me seeing a dermatologist specialist that have been caring for my family for many years. She scoffed and asked why I needed him to look at a mole since she’s “certified” to look at it. Well let’s just say she proved my point that I needed someone who actually cared for their patients. She looked at it, heard that the spot wasn’t like that a couple of years ago and has changed, that it itches and hurts on occasion, and that it’s concerning me. She informed me she didn’t think it was cancerous, didn’t want to perform a biopsy just to make sure, and wouldn’t approve it to be removed. Wow really?? She also told me she’d remove a skin tag for me, but didn’t want to numb it before removal. Ok but you can take my money… for it, but can’t take the time to make your patient comfortable. She said “it’ll only hurt as much as cutting it off”. Ahahah no kidding? Is that ALL? Yes it burned really badly when she froze it off, she saw it wasn’t working so she did it multiple times. Guess what? A small part of it came off but the majority of it stayed. Then she rushed out because I obviously took up too much of her time. I’ve NEVER been brushed off by a doctor like i was with her. I guess “board certified” means absolutely nothing but that you’re in the “good ol boys” club, making money for your hospital with minimum effort on your part. Thanks lady.

she wrote false information in my medical report that was outright lies based on her own speculation and not based on any truth or medical findings, saying i was abusing alcohol when i very rarely ever drink and not much when i do. She botched a mole removal that was supposed to be done by a dermatologist on my father and it never healed, constantly weeping, she is very unknowledgeable about medical practices in general, and has failed to diagnose medical situations that have become much more serious due to her failure to recognize the problem.

I appreciated her thoughtful dialogue, keen interest and kind manner. Dr. Hastings draws from a depth of experience and involvment with current practices and literature. Group Health is fortunate to have such highly trained and compassionate health care provider. thank you.
