Dr. Denise Hooks-Anderson, MD

Wouldn’t recommend. Was my moms doctor for many years, said she REALLY wanted to continue being her doctor a couple years ago after the office made some scheduling mistakes. This past 2 months my mom’s Parkinson’s took a turn for the worse and she can no longer walk. I guess that was too much to handle for Dr Hooks (We asked for to much and asked for timely responses to urgent situations) She dropped my mother as a client 4 days after Christmas. Now my mother is at home with Parkinson’s, unable to walk and without a doctor. We were already struggling to find help with Nursing home placement, and now one of our resources has cut us off. Merry Christmas :(

Team responds slowly. Doesn’t answer phone and doesn’t return phone calls.

I have been going to Dr. Hooks-Anderson for over 20 years. She was the doctor for my mother and brother. She is my doctor and the doctor for my adult son and daughter. She is knowledgeable, caring, takes the time to listen to you and to explain things. She is friendly yet professional. Even though the whole family goes to her, she is skilled at maintaining patient confidentiality. She is thorough and I trust her.

I have been with Dr. Hooks-Anderson for over 10 years. She is always accurate and thorough. I trust that she will always deliver a diagnosis and remedy that quickly resolves the problem.

She really takes time with you--she talks to you to get to the source of whatever your concerns are, and asks questions that other doctors skim over. Dr. Hooks-Anderson never rushes, she always engages. I highly recommend Dr. Hooks-Anderson to anyone looking for a medical professional who values people over profit.

Good physician. Like all of them, though, you should keep your brain engaged and also speak up about what you know and what you need. They are too busy to be clairvoyant.

The only positive thing I can report is that the nursing staff was friendly. Dr. Hooks-Anderson had no bedside manner and listening skills. I felt that she didn't care.

Dr. Hooks-Anderson is very professional and has EXCELLENT bedside manners and office etiquette. She listens intently to you as you discuss your health issues and does not interupt you to talk. She never seems to be in a hurry to leave to see another patient. She tells you step by step what she is doing and the tests or labs she would like to have you take and WHY. She is very patient-friendly. Will take time to listen to even a family situation not related to your health issue but affects you in some way. She is not hesitate about making referrals for the other necessary medical services that you need. I highly recommend Dr. Hooks-Anderson.
