Dr. Dennis Lucien Costello, MD

So happy I found him, Dr. Costello was recommend by a friend who said he was the most thural doctor he had ever been to! 3 minutes into my office visit he discovered that I was on double the recommend dosage of my blood pressure pills and #1 on the list of things to notify your doctor about was shortness of breath, which I had been doing for a few years with my regular doctor. He really listened to me, thank you Dr Costello, you have changed my life for the better!

Dr Costello made my genetic testing process more complicated and difficult than I could ever have imagined. All I needed was an OK from the doctor in order to participate in free medical testing for a gene I know runs in the family. My dad ordered the same test from his doctor in one phone call. Instead, it took MONTHS for Dr. Costello to consent and so much back and forth. I am extremely upset about how this process went and the endless amount of hours I had to dedicate to this. And, in the end, they entered my information incorrectly when submitting the test, causing a delay and confusion in paperwork. Never again!

He is caring and so smart! He changed my meds around (I was having bouts of very high blood pressure). He got it right! He also calmed me down a lot, after being told by former cardiologist that I was headed towards congestive heart failure.

Still alive, still kicking!! Fantastic cardiologist. Best one I think I can recall. Conservative on medications and treatments, but thorough. Listens to the patient.

Dr Costello told me I had hypertension and tried to put me on a new medication that just came on the market despite the fact that I have no history of it. His assistant took my blood pressure and it was within normal range. But when he took it, he said it was high. He ordered an ECHO cardiogram and told me I would see signs of prolong untreated hypertension- thickening of the left ventricle wall. I was very skeptical. I went home and took my own blood pressure day and night for two months. Never once was it even in the prehypertension range. And of course, the ECHO cardiogram showed no sign of thickening. His prescription was based on ONE reading of systolic pressure slightly over 140mmHg (according to him). The medication he prescribed was a beta blocker. Besides lowering blood pressure, it lowers heart rates. My resting heart rate has been consistently in the low 60 range. If I took the medication, I probably would have been passing out all the time.

Nasty man, I left in the middle of consult. I wouldn't let him treat a plant.

He should retire because clearly he is more interested in hearing how great he is instead of listening. Im a Cancer pt that needs heart monitoring and after three visits he still hadn't read about my chemotherapy.
