I was a referral from my family physician so I didn't know what to expect upon arriving at Dr. Maier's office. I can honestly say I was blown away with the level of kindness, professionalism and warmth I felt while at Dr. Maier's office. Everything was clean, the staff was warm and friendly. Very attentive to me and my needs. Dr. Maier actually LISTENED to me. All my concerns, issues, fears and worries. He gave me the time to explain my issues with my hernia without interrupting me. He asked questions and actually paid attention to each answer I gave him. His nurse was warm, kind, professional yet friendly. She took my vitals, went through my complete med list (instead of just handing me one and asking me if that was all I took.) , informed me that there was a surgical intern with Dr. Maier that day and asked if I'd be willing to allow him to also be present. I honestly can't recall the last time anyone cared to even ask if another person would be okay in the exam room. I… was floored when she asked and impressed with the ease with which she would have accepted either a yes or no answer! I can't begin to express the happiness and complete awe that I feel from this experience. The overall experience made recovery easier. To be content going in made coming out so much more relaxing, easy and my fears were totally squashed. I would tell any and everyone I meet, that needs a surgeon for any gastrointestinal issue, to check into getting an appointment with Dr. Maier. I also can't express how impressed I am with the Surgi-Center where he performed my surgery. Clean, warm, friendly..you feel like you are the only person the nurses and Dr's have to see when you go in. I am still in awe of how great everyone was. From the check in lady at the front desk to the nurse that wheeled me out to the car...everyone was just great!
