Dr. Dennis Michael Mamaril, MD

Dr. Dennis Mamaril, MD can NOT be trusted with your well-being. I almost died on the side of the road due his INCOMPETENCE. In September 2023, I saw him for the first time and explained my history of Pulmonary Embolisms and how I was experiencing multiple symptoms of having at least another, including lightheadedness and shortness of breath. He immediately scheduled an MRI and chest x-rays, so far so good, right? Here’s where his incompetence shows. He never told me the test results. Weeks later I was getting a bill for the tests and each time I responded with “I’m not paying the bill until I get the results of the tests you want me to pay for”. This went on for several months until finally Dr. Dennis Mamaril’s office called me and said everything was fine. Several months later I’m having lifesaving surgery for the very things I was complaining about to Dr. Dennis Mamaril. In October 2024 I almost died and if it wasn’t for two good Samaritans, I would have. The doctor who performed the… lifesaving surgery was "surprised" that the previous doctor (Dr. Dennis Mamaril ) didn't "see it" and stated he had "only seen three cases as bad as mine, the other two did not survive". Clearly not “everything was fine” as Dr. Dennis Mamaril claimed. I had approximately 40 blood clots in my lungs (they couldn’t count them all due to positioning), where approximately 30 of them were daisy chained across my trachea into both lungs and were removed by surgery. The surgeon also noted that most of those clots were ‘old”, as in over a year. The doctors and nurses in the ER were astounded I was still alive, which they attributed to the fact I was training for an Ironman Triathlon at the time, allowing my heart to be strong despite one chamber being 4 times normal due to the clotting (full of blood). Fitness helped save my life. I have since seen the MRI/x-ray images and as a layman I can see there was an issue, so how does Dr. Dennis Mamaril not see it? The answer is simple, INCOMPETENCE. But it gets worse. The surgeon placed me on medication for life, but even with that long term prescription, Dr. Dennis Mamaril has refused to give me any prescription beyond 30 days, but this month, knowing I was out of pills, has refused to renew my subscription and I am now on day four without any pills needed to prevent further damage. Perhaps he knows he is going to be sued for malpractice and hopes I die beforehand. Yes, I have tried changing doctors, but with the current insurance plan I have it’s nearly impossible as either they are not taking new patients or are widely outside my geographical area. As of July 1, 2025 I will have a new insurance carrier and be free of this. Hopefully I will not develop any life-threatening issues before that time. If you have any inclination that you may have a serious illness or issue, I highly suggest you avoid Dr. Dennis Mamaril, he simply doesn’t care and appears to just go into the office to receive a paycheck he doesn’t deserve. That explains his low patient ratings.

I have been seeing Dr Mamaril (and his great nurse Edna) for about 15 years. I did take a break in the middle for a couple years to me closer to home but regretted the move and now drive further just to utilize Dr Mamaril. He is very considerate, quite preventative health oriented (expect suggestions to eat well (Mediterranean, Exercise, and stay in shape), very willing to write referrals when needed for specialists, and is the kind of person one would like as a neighbor and doctor. I see some other reviews and disagree and highly recommend him for primary care.

I went to see him just to begin care with the office. Within less than 5 minutes, he was trying to prescribe me anti-Anxiety meds. Sure, life is a bit tricky, but no more than any other working parent. He didn't listen and told me to google it when I asked him about the drugs he was suggesting.

I have found Dr.Dennis Mamaril and his nurse Edna to be caring, personable, knowledgable and thorough. Since my previous PCP, Dr. Jerome Brodkin, retired I became a patient of Dr. Mamaril. Couldn't be happier that Dr. Mamaril is there for us!
