Dr. Dennis Claude Matzkin, MD

My two procedures went very smoothly. Dr. Matzkin explained what needed to be done, what to expect, and all aspects thoroughly.

I saw Dr Matzkin a little over 1.5 years ago for a refractive lens exchange with premium multi-focal IOL lenses(so that I would not have to wear glasses for distance or reading). Whether I had near perfect results or not I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND him to family or friends. If you want a doctor where everything is explained well and there is a willingness to entertain your questions regarding the procedure and expected results…..this is not the doctor for you. Dr. Matzkin “puts up” with your first question, but if you have a second or third….you are labeled a “worrier” or he seems to feel his knowledge is being questioned. Dr. Matzkin says he welcomes questions but his behavior says otherwise. He actually said to me “you’re going to need a little hand holding “ when I wanted to know when I would adjust to my new vision. Dr. Matzkin OVER sells and UNDER delivers. Dr. Matzkin’s staff are not rude, but also not friendly….no one actually seems happy to be there or proud of their job. If I could… do it over again, I would HAVE the procedure, BUT I WOULD NOT HAVE Dr. Matzkin do it….even if the results were perfect AND there was a million dollar giveaway included!! I dreaded all my appointments because of how I felt afterwards. I am not saying that Dr. Matzkin is not skilled or knowledgeable, I’m just saying I wouldn’t go to him again. There are too many other GOOD choices for an ophthalmologist out there, and I would advise—->make another choice!

After some research, it appeared Dr. Dennis Matzkin had some great reviews as a cataract surgeon. His team at Allied Eye were very polite and efficient. Visits to his office proceeded briskly with very little wait time. They provided all necessary information in a concise manner. Dr. Matzkin explained the procedure and the options and provided an opportunity to ask questions. Prior to the procedure, he advised that with my history of lasik surgery and astigmatism, there could not be complete assurance that the implanted lenses would correct my vision totally. Apparently, there must be adjustments made with the implanted lenses or in the implant procedure to account for prior lasik surgery and astigmatism. Whatever Dr. Matzkin had to do, he did it very well. My post-surgery eye exams indicated that I had better 20-15 vision which is better than 20-20 vision. I do not have to wear corrective lenses or use reading glasses. It was a fantastic outcome.

I couldn’t be more impressed! My primary doctor referred me due to some unexplained problems I was having. Dr. Matzkin is the most thorough doctor I’ve ever met! Staff seems extremely well trained. Office staff is very patient oriented. Office is clean and well designed. I’m impressed! I’ll definitely refer friends and family!

Looking at my upper eyelids yesterday, the sun was bright, I was squinting, my eyelids were dropping down. Hum, Dennis carved my up some ugly crooked scars when he supposedly did upper eyelid skin removal.. looks like maybe my skin was stretched out, maybe a tiny bit of skin was removed, (not sure if any was removed) . I sure had some terrible bruising from it all. At least I know, going thru all the agony of surgery, I can still open my eyes. And looking on the bright side, if it rains too hard, I could use my upper eyelids for a nice oversized umbrella????????

Dr. Matzkin and staff are very nice. My appointment went well. I'm happy with my eye care.

Excellent post surgical results and improving each day! The best vision I have had in 26 years! I have been visiting Dr. Matzkin for over the past five years and have the upmost confidence in his ability to treat my visual impairment. Dr. Matzkin is very professional and skilled in the use of the latest technology and medicine to treat numerous ophthalmological diseases and visual defects. His staff at Allied Eye is very curious and friendly, and his clinic his warm and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Matzkin for the care and treatment of your visual health!

I have some eye complications due to Parkinson's Disease. I have been impressed with Dr. Matzkin's knowledge in handling my issues. He is patient and quite helpful.

I have been a patient of Dr. Matzkin several years. His office is top-notch friendly and efficient. Dr. Matzkin is one of the more competent doctors I've ever had. I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes. I can see and only need reading glasses!
