Dr. Dennis Price was born and raised in Louisville, KY. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with an engineering degree in 1974 and then worked at Stauffer Chemical Company in Nashville and Louisville for four years before deciding to make a career change. He was interested in a career that allowed him more interaction with people, so he began exploring options in the healthcare field. In 1982, Dr. Price graduated from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and took over his first practice on Central Avenue, near Churchill Downs. He quickly fell in love with his work and as the practice grew larger, he decided to relocate to a more centrally located area on Bardstown Road where he continues to serve his patients, old and new.
Dr. Price is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Kentucky Dental Association where he is currently a member of the Executive Board, and the Louisville Dental Society where he has served as a Past President. …He has been inducted into the International College of Dentists and continues to stay involved with dental education by maintaining a gratis faculty status with the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Price and his staff attend many continuing education seminars each year in order to keep up with the latest trends in the field of dentistry. He completed a mini-residency at the University of Kentucky in 1990 focusing on TMD (temporomandibular joint disorder) and how to treat head and neck pain as well as jaw disfunction associated with dental conditions.
During his term as President of the Louisville Dental Society, Dr. Price was highly involved in starting the Smile Kentucky! project where underprivileged children are given the opportunity to receive free dental care by local dentists and dental students. Smile Kentucky! is now one of the largest and most successful volunteer dental programs in the country, providing care to more than 300 children every year at no cost to their families.
Dr. Price and his wife, Kathy, are the parents of four children, Matthew (wife Cara Garcia and children Lily and Nora, with twin boys due in August 2010), Meredith (husband Nathan Haney), Carmel (husband Eric Gleis and first child due in August 2010), and Walker. He loves traveling, swimming, golfing, and attending college athletic events, but most of all he loves spending time with his wife, family, and especially his grandchildren!
