Dr. Dennis Harry Rapa, MD

Throughout these years he has been a no nonsense truth teller who helped me lose significant weight and referred me to several specialists who I am also very happy to have. No sugar coating which is fine by me.

He doesn't listen to what the patient has to say. Will make a diagnosis without running test, or examining the patient. He is quick to perscribe pills without offering an alternative. the office seems to always be closed, they don't return phone calls and are terrible about following up on test results or sending referrals

Initial visit to Dr. Rapa due to Hypothyroid conditions, PCOS, and unable to conceive. TSH only tested, no T4, no T3, no FT3 or RT3. Also TSH was well above the lowest clinical range. Rapa refused to treat me, said it was all in my head. Cold bed side manner and very condescending - even though I had done my homework and came with knowledgeable questions. He said nothing about insulin resistance for PCOS and he did not suggest a low carb diet - as is now common knowledge. Visited a Newton Endocrinologist and they have tested all the T4/T3 and found I cannot convert T4 to T3 properly. Now on Armour Thyroid and feeling better than the past 20 years.

Dr. Rapa seems to know his stuff, but he's not a very communicative person and didn't take time to explain medicine changes or new routines. Also he has a strong prejudice against Lantis. His office is in the stone age, they are not set up to take credit, debit or PCS cards. I don't think his secretary even has a computer on her desk.
