If I could give zero stars, I would. Dr. Denyce Michelle Nichols provided one of the most unprofessional and emotionally cold experiences we ever had in a medical setting. During a moment of deep distress and vulnerability, she walked in without empathy, abruptly asking, “What are we doing here?” a statement that felt dismissive and disinterested rather than compassionate or curious. Even more concerning, she delivered completely emotionless the news that there was “nothing she could do for us,” offering no guidance, no resources, and no plan for next steps. We were sent home without any explanation of how to manage the condition, who to follow up with, or what to watch for. It was as if we were a burden rather than patients in need of care. Dr. Nichols embodies what is broken in our healthcare system: a lack of humanity, accountability, and commitment to patient support. I hope she seriously reflects on her role and responsibilities as a physician.
