Dr. Derek Culhan has been dedicated to caring for burn, wound, and hand injury patients across the Magnolia State. He is Mississippi’s only board-certified surgeon with a fellowship in burn surgery and the state’s only replantation surgeon. Dr. Culhan’s advanced training includes fellowships in general surgery, plastic surgery, critical care, and burn surgery—making him uniquely qualified to provide exceptional, specialized care to his patients.

Nearly 20 years ago, Mississippi’s only burn center closed its doors, leaving a void of lifesaving, life-changing care in the Magnolia State. A few years later, a nationally-renowned surgeon stepped in, starting a burn center that served residents until late 2022.
