Dr. Derek Holt Dephouse, MD

We are always taken back in a timely manner. His nurse is phenomenal, she always knows your name and exactly how to pronounce it. Dr.D is so kind and gentle, our daughter loves him. We have seen other doctors in the practice, but he is our favorite!

We are very satisfied with Dr Dephouse. We always get taken back on time. He is very sweet to the children. He takes time to answer our questions, and explain things to us. His nurse is very kind, however she can make us feel rushed and like a number. The time spent with her is not intimate, she doesn't take time to remember parents names even when told a few times at each visit which we go a lot due to health issues of our baby. The front desk staf just stares at you when you walk in the door, they do not greet you until you are right on top of them. When we call the nurse HELP line, we are made to feel stupid and like we're over reacting. The majority of times we have called due to our child being sick, we have been denied an appointment. Resulting in us taking our child to urgent care, where we have EVERY time gotten a diagnoses for ear infections. The nurse practitioner at urgent care was actually the one who referred us to the ENT for ear tubes! The phone nurses are just simply… rude and have absolutely no sympathy. Thinking about changing offices soon if something doesn't change through the summer.

My toddler was throwing up, and even threw up 3 times while in the doctor's office. The doctor and nurses did not care! I brought my son home and after an afternoon of continually throwing up, I called their office and spoke to a nurse to call in some medicine to stop the throwing up. The nurse told me they would not give any medicine till the throwing up continued for 24 hours. I couldn't believe that was their policy for a toddler who can dehydrate so quickly! I said that if they didn't call something in, that I would take him to the ER. The nurse then agreed to ask the doctor for the medicine, which once received did stop the vomiting. With this doctor's office, you have to be willing to fight for the right care for your children, because you can't trust this doctor or the nurses to care whether your child suffers or not. All they care about is their stupid policies.

Dr. Dephouse has never made us feel rushed and he makes the kids, and the parents, feel comfortable. My daughter is now grown but I'm glad he is still my son's doctor!
