Dr. Derek Enlander, MD

I had tons of tests, then when i brought someone with me to get the results, they lost the bloodwork, the woman with the other results was gone for the day and they couldn't find it. and they continue to charge me for someone that was made up and is illegal because I'm on Medicare. I had to pay for some of the results to be faxed to me but never reseived all of them and, they told me I need a procedure that I didn't.

I have found Dr. Enlander to be truly concerned about all aspects of my health, not just my M.E. complications. The doctor will typically spend as much time with the patients as needed. While this occasionally means my wait to see the doctor may take a little longer, it also means I will not be rushed out unnecessarily.

I had a comprehensive evaluation for my me/cfs. The staff as well as Dr Enlander were very pleasant. We discussed all aspects of my disease. I now have a treatment plan. Good people.

He strongly pushes injections and supplements that must be purchased through his office. When he does see you which is for a minute or two each visit he will not answer your questions beyond simple short answers and becomes frustrated when you question his supplement treatment and need for Hepapressin injections. The staff was very pleasant the wait was 2 hours each time. I had been seeing him for over a year before finding out that I was getting worse from his treatments. I decided to see a few other doctors who strongly suggest that I stop this treatment. I finally listened and after 7/8 months being off Dr E treatments I'm getting better. I felt it was important to warn others about this doctor before he harms anyone else.

Dr Enlander does not draw blood so the accusation of blood drawing and gloves is false. Nasty defamation for a great doctor. Spends a lot of time with patients has devised a treatment that helped me after all the other doctors failed. He believes that this is a physical immune system problem.

Dr. Enlander is one of the world's top physicians for M.E.("cfs"). He has been treating ME for about 40 years and also had a very high profile medical career, including as an academic physician previous to this (Chief of Nuclear Medicine at NYU, etc.). He founded and directs the Mt. Sinai Hospital's ME/CFS Research and Treatment Center. Patients from all over the world come to be treated by Dr. Enlander, including a good friend of mine from Hong Kong. I have been a patient for 5 years and recommend him highly. Another friend of mine has seen him for 15 years and says Enlander's the best. (he also specializes in Fibromyalgia, but I do not have that condition, so I can't evaluate him on that)

I had been calling for weeks for an appointment. The office called me on a Sunday out of the blue to see the doctor the next morning. The office and staff were overcrowded, disorganised and highly unprofessional. Dr. Enlander has been selling off-label supplements with no way to verify the quality or safety. While we were waiting in one exam room to see the doctor, the doors of other exam rooms were left open. I heard the doctor asking the staff about the proper needles to use and where they were stored to draw blood. The staff answered: 'Shouldn't you be wearing gloves!"

He is a quack, I left the office as it was a zoo. I had been calling for weeks for an appointment. They called me on a Sunday out of the blue to see the doc the next morning. The staff was highly disorganized and unprofessional. The doors of the exam rooms were left open. I heard the doctor asking staff what needle and where they kept to draw blood. The staff answered. 'Should'nt you be wearing gloves" my wife and I waked out. I need help not another DISEASE!

he wanted the payment before the appointment. however, he missed 2 appointments without following up to reschedule or even an apology.

Dr. Enlander is a pioneer in the treatment of Fibro/CFS. I was doing so well under his care, my life turned around dramatically. Unfortunately, unless you are able to afford the supplements, you are left twisting in the wind. Furthermore, the turnover of staff in the office makes the situation unbearable to deal with. It's a shame because I was so hopeful for finally getting some badly needed help. I am now in search of another doctor that I can afford the treatment and also be able to deal with an office staff without the chaotic environment.
