Dr. Derek Rainwater, MD

Derek Rainwater, MD, is your hometown endocrinologist and diabetes specialist. His practice, Willis Knighton Diabetes & Endocrinology, is conveniently located in north Bossier. There you will be welcomed with open arms as Dr. Rainwater and his staff work with you to achieve your personal health goals in a way that fits your lifestyle and priorities. Dr. Rainwater treats a wide range of endocrine disorders in adults, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary diseases and adrenal issues.

A Bossier City native, Dr. Rainwater earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Centenary College of Louisiana before attending LSU Health Shreveport’s School of Medicine where he received his MD. He remained at LSU Health Shreveport for an internal medicine residency, followed by a fellowship in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. Dr. Rainwater is board certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

…Dr. Rainwater lives here in the community with his wife, Sarah, and their children, Wesley and Meredith. At home, Dr. Rainwater likes to spend time with his family. They love to cook together, work in the garden and spend time outside.
