Derek E. Slack, DPM

Derek Slack, DPM, offers surgical podiatry services, with focus on reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. Dr. Slack, an Athens native, will see patients at Starr Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Slack joined the staff of Starr Orthopedics & Sports Medicine following a three-year residency in podiatric surgery at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville, Ind., where he served as chief resident. He graduated magna cum laude from Lee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 2013. In 2017, Slack graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM), earning his doctorate in podiatric medicine. He was a recipient of the KSUCPM Merit Scholarship for academic achievements each year from 2013 through 2017. Dr. Slack is a resident member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He and his wife have three children.
