My primary referred me to Dr. Tate multiple times over the past few years, and each time, I have been treated in a horrible manner by his secretary Camille. It has always been impossible to get a straight answer out of her about anything, but today she hung up on me after telling me to never call back again. I was trying hard to be polite, and this behavior really threw me for a loop. I don't know if Dr. Tate is any good or not, but I wouldn't trust anyone who would employ such a horrible person.

Excellent compassionate service and care

I was really nervous seeing a psychiatrist. Dr. Tate understood this and really made me feel comfortable. He is extremely knowledgeable about psychiatry and medication. He took the time to talk with my therapist, which made me feel well taken care of. I keep going back because I consider Dr. Tate "my" doctor. He is also very personable and friendly.

I saw Dr. Tate at the recommendation of a friend. He was really kind and incredibly bright. I feel he really gets me and really listens.

Dr. Tate was highly recommended to me and I was not disappointed. I have been to a handful of psychiatrists over the years for anxiety and depression and always come away from the appointments wondering what just happened and not feeling too great. Every psychiatrist I've seen until this point has been somewhat short, unresponsive, and even condescending and uncaring. Derek Tate is anything but--from the minute I walked into his office I knew it would be a different experience, I felt comfortable at once. Dr. Tate interacted with me in a comfortable and personable manner and I didn't feel like some patient-muse-specimen type being treated by some stuffy old Freudian codger. He explained to me exactly how he viewed my situation and I felt like I was a part of the diagnosis and not just at its receiving end. He was right on target and seemed to know intuitively what was going on with me. I highly recommend Dr. Tate.
